Last Updated: April 16

Since March 16, the Florida Department of Health has posted daily reports in the morning and the evening of coronavirus data, summarizing the number of people infected, the number of people being tested by hospital, by lab and by county, the number of people being being monitored, the number of hospitalizations–by hospital–and the number of deaths attributed to Covid-19, age and county breakdowns. The data includes a list of every county’s infected person by age and date of confirmed infection. The reports are accessible at the Department of Health’s website, and being archived at the division of emergency management, though it can be difficult to navigate that site. All reports are provided here with most recent reports at the top.

trumpterd DOUBLED the ultimate death count here in the US
read this list list below of his actions and statements thru mid March
    — look at the bottom trump quote especially
January 30: Trump on Coronavirus, “We have it very well under control, and I think it’s going to have a very good ending. So that I can assure you!”

February 2: Trump on Coronavirus, “Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China, but we did shut it down!”

February 10: On Fox News Trump says without evidence that the coronavirus “dies with the hotter weather… You know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat.”

February 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA.”

February 25: Trump falsely claims “You may ask about the coronavirus, which is very well under control in our country. We have very few people with it, and the people that have it are … getting better. They’re ALL getting better!”

February 26: Trump wrongly says the coronavirus “is a flu” and that “whatever happens, we’re totally prepared.”

February 26: Trump baselessly predicts the number of US cases is “going very substantially down” to “close to zero”

February 26: Trump wrongly says the flu death rate is “much higher” than Dr. Sanjay Gupta said. Coronavirus has 10X death rate compared to flu. If 60K die from flu then 600K will die from Coronavirus!

February 27: Trump baselessly said, “It’s going to disappear. One day — it’s like a miracle — it will disappear.”

February 28: Trump said at a rally, Coronavirus is “the new Democratic Hoax.”

March 2: Trump falsely claims “nobody knew of the number of US flu deaths”.

March 2: Trump says a vaccine is coming “relatively soon”. Only Trump did not bother to mention that CDC had told him earlier that day that a vaccine was a year to a year and a half away.

March 4: Trump said he believes people infected with the novel coronavirus may get better “by sitting around and even going to work.”

March 5: Trump wrongly claims the virus only hit the US “three weeks ago”. Trump was informed of a confirmed case on January 21(6 weeks prior).

March 5: World Health Organization (WHO), based on data collected around the world, stated the global mortality rate for coronavirus at 3.4%. Trump says: “I think the 3.4 % is really a false number, this is just my ‘Hunch’!”

March 6: As the number of cases and deaths in Italy rises, Trump says “I hear the numbers getting much better in Italy.”

March 6: Trump tells cameras, “Anybody who wants a test can get one.” VP Pence said the day prior that Americans could not get tested simply because they wanted to get tested. “You may not get a test unless a doctor or public health official prescribes a test.”

March 6: Trump muses that “maybe the coronavirus improved US jobs numbers.”

March 6: “I like the numbers being where they are. I don’t need to have the numbers double because of one ship,” Trump said of passengers on the Grand Princess cruise ship.

March 7: Trump said that doctors he’s come across as the administration tries to get a handle on the outbreak have been surprised about how much he knows about COVID-19. “Maybe I have a natural ability,” he said. “Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.”

March 11: Trump’s Address from Oval Office wrongly states Insurance companies will pay for patients Coronavirus treatment. Next day Insurance Coalition corrected Trump and said they will pay ONLY for Co-payments, NOT treatment.

March 13: Trump declares National Emergency. “As you know Europe was just designated as the hot spot right now, and we closed that border a while ago so that was lucky or through talent or through luck… call it whatever you want.” The travel ban had not even been implemented, scheduled to start that night.

March 13: Asked why his Admin previously disbanded the national pandemic office which would have significantly prepared the United States, “When you say me, I didn’t do it. We have a group of people… You say we did that, but I don’t know anything about it.” This, after Trump’s presser from Feb. 26 where it was previously brought up and discussed with Trump.

March 13: Backpedaling about whether or not he should get tested and self-isolate for Coronavirus after being in direct contact with those carrying the virus, “I asked them that same question, and they said, ‘You don’t have any symptoms whatsoever.’” You don’t have to be showing symptoms to already have the Coronavirus.

March 13: Trump interacted with several top administration officials and business leaders during the address, shaking hands and patting them.

March 13: Asked by a reporter about the federal failures to test for Coronavirus, Trump answered, “No I don’t take responsibility for that at all.” This, after he exclaimed on March 6 that tests were ready and everyone who wanted a test would be able to get a test.

Notable Trump tweet from 2013: “Leadership: Whatever happens, you’re responsible. If it doesn’t happen, you’re responsible.”

Jan 27 – Vox – “The House will soon vote on a bill to repeal Trump’s travel ban — as he gears up to expand it. Nancy Pelosi says she will bring the NO BAN Act, filed by Democrat Rep. Judy Chu [CA-27], to the floor in the coming weeks.”

Jan 28 – Business Insider – “flu is a far bigger threat to most people in the US than the Wuhan coronavirus”
LA Times – “The new coronavirus isn’t a threat to people in the United States – but the flu is”

Jan 30 – CDC – confirmed the 6th coronavirus infection, also the first “known” human-to-human transmission within the U.S. CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield let us know that “the immediate risk to the American public is low.”
WHO – urged countries not to restrict travel or trade in response to COVID-19

Jan 31 – CDC – confirmed the seventh coronavirus infection, a male who traveled to Wuhan. “We are preparing as if this were the next pandemic, but we are hopeful still that this is not and will not be the case,” the director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Dr. Nancy Messonnier said after this news came out.

Jan 31 – President Trump announced that all foreign nationals who had traveled to China except the immediate family members of US citizens or permanent residents won’t be allowed into the U.S. effective February 2nd, 5 pm (EST). Which was immediately ridiculed by the media and the Democrats.

Feb 1 – Joe Biden sent the following tweet: “We are in the midst of a crisis with the coronavirus. We need to lead the way with science — not Donald Trump’s record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fear-mongering. He is the worst possible person to lead our country through a global health emergency.” So, if Biden were the POTUS, would he have listened to the clowns at the WHO, CDC, and NCIRD and have done nothing?
Washington Post – “Get a grippe, America. The flu is a much bigger threat than coronavirus, for now.”
New York Times “Beware the Pandemic Panic – (used to justify unnecessarily severe limits on movement and civil liberties)”

Feb 4 – Politico – “Coronavirus quarantine, travel ban could backfire, experts fear”

Dennis , Trump fired the Pandemic Response team in 2018 , this virus would of never left China had that team still been in place , they contained SARS, MERS , COVID 06, AVIAN FLU , and EBOLA, anyone of them could of become a world wide Pandemic as well , Trump and his party were severely warned that eliminating this team would be Catastrophic, yet they did it anyway. His Governors are helping to spread this virus , DeSantis here in Fl allowed 400.000 Bikers in for Bike Week while most other states were banning gatherings of 100 people or more , I`m betting 100.000 of them bikers were from the NY , NJ area , if that was not bad enough after they left he let just as many or more Spring Breakers in , neither of these groups were practicing safety precautions, they spread the virus all over our state ,I said back when he let them in it was going to be very bad for our state , we are up over 42.000 cases now and we`ve hardly tested anyone , the guidelines Trump himself agreed to weeks ago for reopening were two solid weeks of steady decline in cases , we are not seeing a decline , quite the opposite over 800 new cases a day , Trump refuses to wear a mask , so his ignorant base refuses to as well , you go in Publix or any other store and you can pick out Trump supporters they are not wearing masks or staying 6 feet from other shoppers , They are brain washed by Fox Fantasy Views , they just do not get that you can have this virus and show no symptoms , feel great , but you are spreading it to others , possibly killing them or their loved ones , .Trump and the Organized Crime Syndicate masquerading as the Republican party ARE responsible for every single death out side of China , for our collapsed economy and unemployment rate , All you people taken in by Don The Con should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves , he said and did horrible things before the election and you people turned a blind eye to it all , that is exactly how Hitler came to power , sticking with party is one thing ,, sticking with a traitor , a known pedophile, a racist , thief ,compulsive liar and now a mass murderer is nothing short of criminal , just like not wearing a mask is , people refusing to wear them are knowingly spreading this deadly virus on purpose ,and if we had a moral government in charge you`d all be charged with attempted murder , but we have have a Lawless President and a Lawless Governor`s purposely spreading this virus , stealing states PPE, and selling it to highest bidders or shipping it to Russia , Trump and his Party ARE TO BLAME FOR IT ALL!

So did we just have 100 people in Florida die from it in one day? June 22 to the 23rd? Also, can you do some research on how our state and the CDC defines a COVID-19 death? I keep hearing people say that people are reporting any kind of death as a COVID death, but that doesn’t make sense, unless they’re saying the people who would normally die of something are also positive for COVID-19 and are being tested?

Do they test people coming in for heart attacks and symptoms related to underlying conditions for COVID-19, or are they only reporting people who die as a result of symptoms related to COVID -19?

Also, could we get some enlightenment about hospitalizations and rates? Is that hard to come by?

    Thank you in advance.

Just listened to Governor DeSantis pass the buck to local authorities no surprise he acts like their all on their own with the virus, same as his idol Donald Trump does. Pass the buck but he will want State support from every community when he is up for re-election.
He said the increase is only in certain areas of Florida, so he must be convinced that each county has a wall around it and that no one from different counties will be traveling to or leaving those infected areas. He talks so fast so you can’t keep and honest track what he is saying, a true politician of bull crap.
The bottom line is he has failed the State of Florida which he took an oath of office to protect its citizens. I guess he forgot that oath now that he is in office, how quickly they forget.

  16. Deb H says

I don’t think that the entire state of Texas could be considered a liberal state. Arizona and Florida are not either. Cuomo took charge and got it under control. He gave plain real updates daily and he made tough decisions. Our current leader takes no responsibility for the testing shortages, the supply shortages, the lack of a unified strategy, or the constant onslaught of false statements and “hunches” he makes. This is a worldwide pandemic not a democratic ploy to make this guy look bad, he does that all by himself. Our allies have done the hard work of getting control of thsi by shutting down completely and protecting and supporting their populations. The EU has over 430 million people in about 28 countries and they are having less than 5000 new cases daily. They have people on the ground and they are tracing contacts, testing, and isolating as necessary. We are left to the mercy of Governors who are out of money and little power to do much of anything. In Florida with 22 million people we have less than 2000 contact tracers and n o where near enough testing. To blame Cuomo for the very beginning of this pandemic is pretty sad considering they were first and we should have learned alot from what happened there and maybe if Trump ahd allowed the CDC and NIH take a leading role in this those lessons would have been identified and manged better. But that is the problem isn’t it? We are letting politicians run te show instead if the medical experts. If you’re refusing to wear a mask etc. for a political statement you are part of the problem. As this gets worse and our hospitals become over run and friends and neighbors start dying the economy is going to tank. So rather than insisting we just suck it up and taking the all or nothing approach that this administration is hell bent on taking because he thinks a good economy is a win for him we should stop and consider the reality of what people are going to do when that occurs. There is no doubt that if a democrat were in power we would have listened to the xperts and likely be in the same shape as the EU because we would taken help from the WHO and coordinated and shared ideas with other countries that were working rather than continuing to shun our best allies and buddy up with dictators. We are ina very dangerous place in this country and I pray that people open their eyes and look at the reality of what is happening apart from politics.

As a healthcare provider I can tell you that there is a cardiovascular component affecting many infected with Covid. it causes strokes and heart attacks as well as clots in other areas triggering kidney failure and blocking blood flow to extremities causing “Covid toes” and leading to amputations in some cases. So when you hear that someone died of Covid but the had a stroke etc. it is likely due to Covid. The disease is causing wide spread clotting in many people. Young assymptomatic people are having stroke and heart attacks. Google Covid toes its a crazy thing as well and due to clotting.

there’s been new deadly viruses and pandemics before and there are experts on it, with experience how to best mitigate it, theres pandemic playbooks in the white house no matter what administration is in place. everyone knows not everyone will “deal” with it, because not everyone knows what to do….thus experts, uses the playbooks with step by step instructions on how to proceed. The trouble is this time, the administration in place threw out the handbook because at the start it was only democratic governor states getting hit with the virus bad, so it’s them that made it political from the start…..and then they didn’t lead the nation on any consistent policies instead they denied over and over it woukd be a problem and made fun of wearing masks……people followed them. and that caused death that didn’t have to happen. medical experts were consistent. only not real experts put in place to carry a political agenda winged it. so……..get the facts straight

Hey Stan, thanks for the Fox New update. Glad to see you’re a well rounded American. You forgot to blame Hillary and Obama for something unrelated. Genius.

    Whoops! Guess what . .

TALLAHASSEE — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday that the state is investigating allegations that an upscale West Palm Beach nursing home diverted scarce COVID-19 vaccinations meant for residents and staff to members of the facility’s board of directors and donors.

The country will continue to go down the tubes, regardless of the person in the white house as each party will sling shit at each other and waste years for nothing. We have term limits for President, by God there should be term limits for Congressional members. This shit slinging will go on until our idiots in office learn to get along and support the people that put them in office and get off their egos’ and their asses and do their freaking job. .,

Hey Bold, I served 20 years for my country and damn proud of it. I don”t hate anyone, so find some new words. And I voted for Trump since he was the best of the worsts when Hillary ran. But Trump just screwed up Covid and that did it for me.
