A family of five riding in one car and an off-duty law enforcement officer riding in the other were injured, some of them seriously, and sent to three different hospitals, one of them by air, after a three-vehicle crash in the construction zone for the coming roundabout at U.S. 1 and Old Dixie Highway.
Daniel R. MacLeod III, a 40-year-old former resident of Palm Coast, was critically injured in a motorcycle crash late Monday afternoon on I-95, just north of Palm Coast Parkway. McLeod later died at Halifax hospital.
A crash between a sedan and a semi truck just after 6 p.m. Sunday shut down I-95 southbound south of the Flagler-St. Johns county line and sent the driver of the sedan a deputy to the hospital. The deputy was responding and had smoke inhalation.
A pick-up truck rear-ended a school bus that was approaching the end of its morning run in Palm Coast’s L Section this morning, a collision one witness described as “like a bomb.” One child suffered neck pain, the drivers were not hurt.
Austin Chewning, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Deputy of the Year, was involved in a crash in the Hammock Saturday. Firefighters on a tender truck were involved in a crash this morning on Education Way and U.S. 1 in Palm Coast. Two civilians were involved.
Jessica May, 34, was severely injured when she drove her car through a guardrail and went into a canal Sunday evening at State Road 100 and County Road 305.
A Bunnell motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a crash with an SUV at the intersection of Belle Terre Parkway and State Road 100 shortly after 8 p.m. this evening.
Connor R. Allen, 8, of Palm Coast, a student at Belle Terre Elementary, was with his grandfather, Roland J. Robidoux, 73, in Edgewater, when he was pinned in a storage unit by a car his grandfather was storing.
It is the fifth death in December on Flagler roads, four of the deaths occurring in the stretch from just yards north of Belle Terre Boulevard to the Old Dixie Highway intersection with U.S. 1.
Robert Roy Robbins, a 62-year-old motorcyclist, lost control, swerved off U.S. 1 and crashed on Old Dixie Highway near the White Eagle Lounge this afternoon. He was pronounced dead minutes later.
