Yusuf Abdullah, 45-year-old part-time paramedic at the Flagler County jail and a former Daytona Beach fire fighter was arrested Friday afternoon on a charge of sale of selling cocaine within 1,000 feet of a convenience store, a first-degree felony.

Henry Cornish, 71, was found in a burning car at 11:30 this morning (Feb. 27) in the heart of Palm Coast’s Town Center, not far from the Epic movie theater, after suffering an apparent medical episode, according to FHP. Town Center access is closed going west at the intersection of Town Center Boulevard and Central Avenue, and going east at Central Avenue and Brookhaven Way.

Three separate and unrelated traffic stops for minor infractions over the weekend led to three arrests on cocaine possession charge, an indication, according to the Sheriff’s Office, of a noticeable rise in the drug’s circulation, and in reaction to the crackdown on prescription drugs.

Karen Breen, a Palm Coast resident, is accused of a similar charge after allegedly purposefully colliding with her elderly parents during an argument, and in front of a cop.

The alleged attack on a pizza delivery woman took place on Powder Hill Drive in Palm Coast.

The pizza delivery woman was asking for directions from two men on Powder Hill Drive when one of them displayed a gun, and reportedly fired it as the woman backed up to escape. A bullet struck the car’s console, but the woman was not injured.

Sean Lynn Ryan was killed three days shy of his 26th birthday a year ago when a car struck him as he walked on U.S. 1 near Plantation Bay. The driver fled. On Friday, John D. Steele, 48, of Daytona Beach, who claimed to his insurance agency that he’d hit a deer, was arrested and charged with a first-degree felony after a long investigation by FHP’s Randy Naugher.

Ruben Cortes, 23, of Campbell Court in Palm Coast, was jailed for the 12th time in five years after an alleged attempted burglary on Carr Lane. A sheriff’s deputy took out his Taser (but didn’t fire it) to arrest Elliott Dixon, 19, after Dixon was seen taking bed sheets, clothing and Lego sets at Walmart, and evading a Walmart employee who tried to stop him.

The anonymous tipster helped lead to the arrest of Joseph Bova, who faces first-degree murder charge in the execution-style killing of Zuheily Rosado in Palm Coast on Feb. 21. Crime Stoppers upped its rewards for tips in homicide investigations from $1,000 to $5,000.

The 15-year-old student allegedly confessed to drinking alcohol at a bus stop, and bringing the drink on board the bus, which he then spilled when confronted. Kenneth James Kirsch Jr., 20, and Michael Shawn McRoberts Jr., 17, of Palm Coast, were arrested after a police raid on a Zoeller Court over a gun stolen in late September in the F Section.

Bank of America Robber Kevin Cotterman Is Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison, No Parole

Kevin Cotterman, the 42-year-old serial bank robber who stole $805 from the Palm Coast Bank of America branch on Palm Coast Parkway in May 2012, was sentenced today (Oct. 8) to 15 years in prison, with no possibility of parole, by Flagler County Circuit Judge J. David Walsh.

Shawn Dyer had allegedly bypassed the house on 2nd Path’s electric meter to keep an elaborate marijuana growing operation going. An estimated 6.5 pounds of packaged marijuana, worth $19,500, was found in the house, among other related items.

FlaglerLive obtained an image of the grenade discovered on a Palm Coast Parkway crosswalk Tuesday evening, as the image was relayed to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad through a robotic camera. The grenade was destroyed that evening.
