Free For All Fridays on WNZF: Host David Ayres welcomes a trio of tourism officials: Matt Dunn, who heads Flagler County’s tourism bureau, Georgia Turner, who used to head it but now heads West Volusia’s, amd Lori Campbell baker, who heads Volusia’s, all starting a little after 9 a.m. with a commentary by FlaglerLive Editor Pierre Tristam on restoring voting rights to felons who’ve served their time.

First Friday at Flagler Beach’s Veterans Park, with vendors, games, food, music and other delights, from 6 to 9 p.m.

First Friday Garden Walk at Washington Oaks Garden State Park at 10 a.m. Join a Ranger on the first Friday of the month at 10am for a walk through our historical gardens. Learn about the history of our park while exploring the beauty of the formal gardens. The walk is approximately 1 hour. Please bring water and wear comfortable walking shoes. Friday: The Sixties Spectacular is at the Peabody Auditorium (600 Auditorium Blvd., Daytona Beach) at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $39 and with the best seats in the house costing only $59. Friday, Saturday, Sunday: “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” at the Flagler Playhouse: The show highlights the best rock ’n roll tunes of the legendary songwriting duo of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. This musical revue showcases such numbers as Yackety Yak, Charlie Brown, Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog, Love Potion #9, Stand By Me and many more. So bring a date and come to the greatest singalong that Flagler Playhouse has ever seen, featuring nearly 40 of the best songs ever recorded. Friday: The Christiania Piano Quartet, led by cellist Christopher Rex, the AICMF’s general and artistic director, will perform music of Mozart, Korngold, Bériot, Halvorsen and Schumann on February 2 as part of the seventeenth season of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. This performance is scheduled for 7:30 PM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2600 Atlantic Avenue in Fernandina Beach. Friday: Pauly & the Goodfellas at the Flagler Auditorium. The show will take you back to the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, recreating the look and sound of the most memorable music and styles of the era. Friday: Free Film Friday at the Museum of Art DeLand, featuring “The Life and Works of M. C. Escher,” from 7-8:30 p.m. The Life and Works of M. C. Escher takes an in-depth look at the artist and traces his career path and personal life, from the early years in Italy to his move to Switzerland and subsequent turn inward for inspiration. 100 N Woodland Blvd, DeLand.

Saturday: 4th Annual Polar Plunge in Flagler Beach. Registration starts in Veterans Park at 9 a.m. and the actual Plunge into the Atlantic is set for 10:15 a.m. The purpose of the Polar Plunge is to bring together and unite community members toward the common goals of having fun while raising money for our local Special Olympics athletes. Saturday: Flagler Palm Coast High School‘s Community Problem Solvers in collaboration with various community agencies are organizing a child fair for parents with children from age 0 to age 5, at the G.W. Saturday: Daytona State College’s College-Funding Saturday events at its Daytona Beach and Flagler/Palm Coast campuses will help ease students’ fear of the FAFSA process, making for a smooth transition from ‘applicant’ to ‘awarded.’ Students applying to any higher education institution are welcome to attend the free events. Participants also can enter a $500 DSC scholarship drawing provided by the DSC Foundation; and refreshments will be available. Experts from DSC’s Financial Aid Services office will be on hand during a four-hour window at the Palm Coast campuses: DSC Flagler/Palm Coast Campus, James Gardner Center, Bldg. 2, Rm 100, 3000 Palm Coast Parkway S.E., Palm Coast, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Saturday: The Flagler Youth Orchestra’s top ensemble performs in the Palm Coast United Methodist Church’s Concert Series at 4 p.m. Sue Cryan will conduct the Flagler Youth Orchestra’s Harmony Chamber Orchestra with a program featuring music by Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Joplin, Grieg, and much more. The concert will be held in the sanctuary of Palm Coast United Methodist Church at 5200 Belle Terre Parkway. A freewill donation is encouraged. Saturday: Mozart Orchestra of New York: Under the guidance of its famous Music Director, Gerard Schwarz, the Mozart Orchestra of New York will perform Mozart’s great last three symphonies, Nrs. 39, 40 and 41, at 7:30 p.m. Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, 14 Granada Street, St. Augustine, opposite the Lightner Museum. $40 per ticket. Saturday at the Agricultural Museum: A western themed scholarship fundraiser sponsored by University Women of Flagler 501 (c) (3) Sheriff Longmire creator, author Craig Johnson will be the featured guest. Enjoy a chuck wagon lunch, then listen to Craig share insights into his widely popular books and Netflix series. There will also be a book signing, western themed vendors and line dancing to the band UpTUIT! Don’t forget to wear your boots, belts and hats as West meets East in Palm Coast. Saturday: Florida scrub-jays are in the spotlight at the Florida Scrub-Jay and Wildlife Festival at the Lyonia Preserve in Deltona. The free festival in Volusia County offers an 8 a.m. early-bird hike, and continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with eco-buggy rides, guided hikes, wildlife exhibits and presentations, and activities for kids. Florida scrub-jays play a starring role among the many birds you see in Florida. They are the only bird species that lives exclusively in this state. You won’t find them anywhere else.

Saturday: “Myra Breckenridge,” the Gore Vidal novel that brought transexualism out of the closet, turns 50 today. The New York Times called it “repulsive both in graphic detail and in the exploitive snicker one detects at some real-life hang-ups,” but also adding that the novel “is a genuinely, brutally witty book, a parody on Hollywood, pop intellectualism, pornography and just about anything else you could name.” Buy the book here.

Sunday: Cirquesco at the Flagler Auditorium, 7:30 p.m. The mystical artistry of a European circus combines with the flirtatious camp of cabaret to create an evening of sheer magic. Cirquesco is a unique combination of song, dance, acrobatics, and humor, and a perfect example of what the multi-talented and extremely creative producer/director/choreographer Kevin Black brings to Flagler Auditorium. Bunnell Street Paving: Bunnell will be resurfacing a few streets during the hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM beginning Monday, February 5, 2018 through Saturday, February 10, 2018 (weather permitting). The following streets will be impacted by paving crews:

N. Chapel St (from E. Woodland St. to E. Howe St.)
N. Orange St (from E. Howe St to E. Moody Blvd.)
N. Lemon St. (from Howe St. to E. Moody Blvd.)
N. Fig St. (from Howe St. to E. Moody Blvd.)
N. Peach St. (from E. Lambert St. to E. Moody Blvd.)
E. Woodland St. from US 1 to SR 100 W

Access to the roads being worked on will be limited during the vendor’s regular working hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Residents along scheduled streets are asked; to ensure no vehicles, boats, trailers, etc. are left in the roadway during these hours. Prior to the resurfacing, please refrain from placing debris in the roadway for City pickup. Also make sure your sprinklers are turned off from 2:00 am to 7:00 pm. The day after the road is surfaced, these items can return to normal. Questions about this project or the schedule should be directed to the City of Bunnell Public Works Department at 386-437-7515.
