Free For All Friday on WNZF: Host David Ayres welcomes former Clerk of Court Gail Wadsworth as part of a tribute to Judge Kim C. Hammond, who died on July 16, the Chamber of Commerce’s Gretchen Smith, the Tourist Development Council’s Amy Lukasik, and Hannah Blevins, Junior Miss Flagler County. (Miss Flagler 2017 is Daria Tutino, a student at Matanzas High School who’s been taking part in the pageant since she was much younger. See her 2010 and her 2012 entries (when she went by a different name).

Movie Nights by the Surf at Veterans Park in Flagler Beach, 5 p.n.: The movie, “Cop and a Half,” will be shown at dusk, outdoors at Flagler Beach’s Veterans Park, located at the corner of Moody Blvd. and Highway A1A right across the street from the beach. Admission is free. Be sure to bring your family & friends as well as a blanket. Food and drinks will be available for purchase as well as bounce house activities and more.

Friday: Dive-In Movie, gates open at 8 p.m., movie at 8:30 p.m. at Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast. Families and friends share fun watching a movie on the giant outdoor movie screen, while floating around in the pool. July’s flick is Sing (PG). Admission is $1. More info: 386-986-4741.

Saturday: Summer Jam Fest, At the G.W. Carver Community Center, 1 to 8 p.m. Mark your calendars and prepare to attend this fun event, sponsored by the George Washington Carver Foundation &Team We Care. This is a back to school event with food and snacks available for purchase. On site will be free health screenings, a bounce house, line dancing, basketball games, and vendors. It is unfortunately and surprisingly not a free event: Admission is $5 per person, or bring a new back pack to donate. Children 5 and under get in free, when accompanied by an adult. Saturday: Tour de Palm Coast, leaving at 8 a.m. from Palm Coast City Hall, 160 Lake Ave. (at the back side of Central Park in Town Center). The Tour will take riders along the scenic route of Lehigh Trail behind Epic Movie Theater down to Colbert Lane and back. No registration required. Riders ages 8-adult; please bring water and wear a helmet. More info: 386-986-2323.

Saturday: Fifth Annual Play 60 at Flagler Palm Coast High School, 10 a.m. Some 125 children have signed up. Fuel Up to Play 60 is an in-school nutrition and physical activity program launched by National Dairy Council and NFL, in collaboration with the USDA, to help encourage today’s youth to lead healthier lives.

Section of St. Joe Walkway to close temporarily for reconstruction

An approximately ½-mile section of St. Joe Walkway – one of Palm Coast’s most popular trails – will be closed beginning Monday, July 24, to allow for reconstruction of the multi-use pathway. The portion to be closed is from eastbound Palm Coast Parkway to the Intracoastal Waterway, in the vicinity of Canopy Walk. Detour signs will be posted for bicyclists and pedestrians, taking them on a nearby trail route to Palm Harbor Parkway and the Hammock Bridge trailhead. Access along the Intracoastal Waterway between Hammock Bridge and Waterfront Park will remain open for now. However, as the project progresses, a portion of that section of the trail will be closed temporarily. The pathway must be reconstructed because it has cracks and damage from tree roots. City of Palm Coast crews will do most of the work, and then the repaving will be done by Halifax Paving. The project is expected to take several weeks. The City of Palm Coast appreciates the patience to trail-users as we complete this important trail reconstruction project. For more information, call Palm Coast Customer Service at 386-986-2360.

CAMPAIGN REPORTS DUE: Candidates in special elections in Senate District 40 and House District 116 face a Friday deadline for filing campaign-finance reports. Special primary elections in the Miami-Dade County districts will be held July 25.
