Today is dads take your child to school day. The school district has a few events organized for the occasion, including doughnuts with dad at the Wadsworth Elementary cafeteria at 8:15 a.m. and dinner with dad at the Belle Terre Elementary cafeteria at 6 p.m.

The Flagler County Economic Opportunity Advisory Council meets at 9 a.m. in board chambers at the Government Services Building, Bunnell. On the agenda: the board will hear from Florida Power and Light’s economic development director, and from the Florida East Coast Railway’s director of carload sales and industrial development.

Collective Bargaining Session: The Flagler County Professional Firefighters Association, the firefighters’ union, negotiate with Flagler County government’s representatives, at 10 a.m. in the county’s Human Resources Director’s Office, Government Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Blvd., Building #2, Bunnell. The session is open to the public.

The first of four public workshops on a review of the Palm Coast City Charter is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Matanzas High School cafeteria, at Matanzas High. The workshop is open to the public, and public input will be sought.

A meeting of the Compassionate Friends is scheduled at the Vitas Office at 4 North Old Kings Road (across from Kentucky Fried Chicken) in Palm Coast, 5:30 p.m. The Compassionate Friends, a nonprofit self-help bereavement support organization for families that have experienced the death of a child. The meeting is open to all parents, grandparents, and siblings over age 18 who has suffered the loss of a child of any age. It takes place every fourth Wednesday of the month.
