Palm Coast Parkway Lane Closure on Monday and Tuesday, June 11-12: The City of Palm Coast Public Works Department will close one lane of eastbound Palm Coast Parkway – from Clubhouse Drive to Colbert Lane – on Monday and Tuesday, June 11 and 12, for a road repair project. A flagman will assist with traffic control.
The Palm Coast City Council meets in workshop at 9 a.m. at City Hall in Town Center. Council members will discuss the eminent-domain acquisitions of several parcels along Old Kings Road as part of the road’s planned four-laning. The eminent-domain acquisitions have a projected cost of $189,000. Council members will get an overview of property taxes and revenue expected ahead of budget discussions. The Flagler County Planning and Development Board meets at 6 p.m. in Board Chambers at the Government Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Blvd., Bldg. 2, first floor, Bunnell. One item on the agenda: Santore and Sons, the fireworks manufacturer, is requesting a rezoning of 20 acres off County Road 304 from agricultural to planned unit development to allow for the business’ expansion. The Bunnell City Commission meets in special session starting at 6 p.m. to interview the first three of its six candidates for city manager, at City Hall, 201 West Moody Boulevard. The candidates will be interviewed in one-hour increments starting with John Klimm at 6 p.m., followed by Alvin Jackson and R. Scott Tipton. The other three candidates will be interviewed on June 18. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office continues the phased evacuation of nearly 70 employees from its Operations Center in Bunnell to the Flagler County Courthouse and the sheriff’s old administration building on Justice Lane. The move, seen as temporary for now, is necessitated by more than two dozen employees reporting health issues and concerns related to what could be a sick building. The St. Johns River Water Management District Governing Board will meet after holding committee meetings. Committees start at 9:30 a.m., with full board at 11 a.m., district headquarters, 4049 Reid St., Palatka.

JUDGE HEARS NURSING HOME RECORDS DISPUTE: Leon County Circuit Judge Terry Lewis will hold a hearing on arguments by attorneys for an embattled Broward County nursing home that the Florida Department of Health should be held in contempt in a public-records dispute. The Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills is seeking copies of death certificates for people across the state from Sept. 9 through Sept. 16 — a week-long period that included Hurricane Irma and its immediate aftermath. Lewis ruled that the nursing home is entitled to the records, but The Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills contends the Department of Health has not properly complied with Lewis’ order. The nursing home and department have been locked in legal battles after residents of the nursing home died following Irma.
