A 17-year-old Flagler Palm Coast High School student was arrested just before midnight Thursday after a Snapchat video sent under the name “Jimmy Boy,” showing ammunition and a message–“I’m ready to shoot up the school”–was detected by a county resident and traced back to the student.

Steven Edwin Jones died on march 25 at age 74. He was Flagler County's first E-911 coordinator and had implemented the county's first Enhanced 911 system under sheriff McCarthy. According to his obituary, 'After returning from the Peace Corps, Steven continued his lifetime of service to others. Over the years he was the Executive Director of self-help housing programs in Wisconsin and South Florida as well as Executive Director of Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) and the Director of Modernization for the Housing Authority of Savannah, GA.In 1984 an available construction management position with ITT made it possible for Steven and his family to move to Flagler County. While in Palm Coast he made many positive contributions to our community. Steven went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida. This degree provided a spring board to become the Executive Director of Senior Services and Flagler County Transportation. Over the years Steven was involved in numerous organizations and activities in Flagler County.'

Stephen Connor Brady, 20, was charged with statutory rape after an 18-year-old woman he knew accused him of assaulting her in November. The State Attorney’s Office dropped the charge when it found that inappropriate behavior may have been misinterpreted.

A family of five, including a 13-year-old girl and a toddler, were in the blue Toyota to the right and an off-duty Daytona Beach police officer was in the Chevy when the vehicles crashed this evening on U.S. 1 in the construction zone near Old Dixie Highway. A family of five riding in one car and an off-duty law enforcement officer riding in the other were injured, some of them seriously, and sent to three different hospitals, one of them by air, after a three-vehicle crash in the construction zone for the coming roundabout at U.S. 1 and Old Dixie Highway.
