Friday: Florence Fruehan: The Department of Health’s Board of Osteopathic Medicine is expected to consider Palm Coast physician Florence Fruehan’s voluntary surrender of his medical license in an agreement he reached with the Department of Health as he was under state and the Flagler sheriff’s investigation for alleged sexual improprieties with a female patient. (A misdemeanor battery charge against him was dropped.) If the board ratifies the agreement, Fruehan will be barred from practicing medicine. He has been barred from doing so since he signed the agreement on Aug. 20. The board meets at the Rosen Plaza Hotel, 9700 International Drive in

Friday: Flagler County’s Open Door Re-Entry and Recover Ministry hosts the third annual Under the Harvest Moon Gala at 6:30 p.m. in the Atlantic Ballroom at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast. This event will benefit the Christian-based nonprofit, with funds going toward the creation and operation of residential recovery homes in Flagler County that aim to transform drug and alcohol abusers through a 6 to 12-month program. The evening will include a welcome reception where guests will mingle and enjoy the elegant ambiance of the resort, and be invited to participate in a silent auction featuring art from Cornerstone Artworks and Hammock Beach Resort stay with golf package. Guest speakers include alumni from the Open Door Ministry program, Sheriff Rick Staly and Joe Mullins. The evening will also include an update on the Women’s Recovery House in Bunnell. Friday: Stetson University Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition Winners, Anthony Hose, conductor. This concert showcases the winners of the 2018 Concerto Competition. Violinist Gabriella Martinez plays the Rondo from Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole and soprano Kat Kirby-Kopczynski sings the evocative Knoxville, Summer of 1915 by Samuel Barber. The orchestra opens the program with Verdi’s Overture, La Forza del Destino and ends the program continuing the Italian vein with Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4, known as the “Italian.” 7:30 p.m. Lee Chapel in Elizabeth Hall 421 N. Friday: Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis. Saturday: Grand reopening of Nature Scapes, under new ownership, noon to 6 p.m. 313 Old Brick Road, Bunnell, with music acts, yoga, local art vendors, food, and an orchid care presentation. The new owner is keeping with some of the traditions of the original owners, the Baiata family, including the bird sanctuary on premises, for which proceeds from this event will go towards.
Saturday: The Friends of the Library of Flagler County invite you to a Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Pkwy. If you are a member of the Friends you are invited to attend the preview sale on Friday, November 16 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Not a member, just stop in before or during the sale on Friday to become a member. The Book Sale will be offering a large selection of subjects in hard and soft cover books. Also we will have DVD’s, CD’s, puzzles and book sets. Most items are priced at $2 or less. Also there will be a bake sale with a great variety of homemade goodies to purchase. Saturday: 10th-year Super Scenic Garage Sale, a chance to explore four Florida Scenic Highways spanning five counties along Florida’s east coast this Saturday. Organized by the Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway as the annual 72-mile sale, this year’s event is double the length, coming in at 150 miles of shopping. Starting in Fernandina Beach and ending in Ponce Inlet, the Friends of A1A wanted to collaborate with fellow Florida Scenic Highways to make the 10th annual event one to remember. Bringing together the A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway in Flagler and St. Johns counties, the partner byways include A1A Ocean Islands Trail in Nassau and Duval counties, the Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail and the Halifax Heritage Byway (candidate) in Volusia County, with homes and businesses participating in between the major community sites along the route.

The Palm Coast Historical Society has new hours and will now be open on Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. Our little museum is a treasure. Our current exhibit is about our Fire Department and will run through December. Please join us. We are also open on Wednesdays, 1:30 to 3 p.m., Holland Park, 18 Florida Park Dr N, Palm Coast.
Flagler Beach Thanksgiving: Mayor Linda Provencher is currently collecting cash donations to help feed Flagler Beach residents this Thanksgiving. There is a donation box located in the front of the finance department at City Hall located at 105 S. 2nd St, or you can contact Linda Provencher directly at 386-439-8815. The Palm Coast Lions Club is pleased to announce the club’s new Board of Directors and Slate of Officers. The installation banquet was held at the Columbian Club (formerly Knights of Columbus). The Club’s secretary Ken Crowley installed the officers. The Palm Coast Lions Slate of Officers and Directors for the 2018-2019 Lion Year are: Joe Langello – President an Treasurer, Stan Niedzwiecki – First Vice President, Ken Crowley – Secretary, Ralph Johnan – Tail Twister, Don Green/Rev. Gerry Laird – Chaplain, Wayne Gile –Immediate Past President, Andy Dodzik, Shel Reichard and Janet Fonseca – One Year Director, and Gerry Laird and Betsy Ryan – Two Year Director. The Membership Committee consists of Chair Wayne Gile and member Mike Ryan. Langello’s goal as president is to increase membership by 10 new members each year and to bring in some younger members. The club plans to stay involved in the community with Paws for Patriots, White Cane Days, providing free eye exams and eyeglasses to those in need.

Looking for 5 talented females to play multiple roles in the musical, “A… My Name is Alice”. Voice types needed: 2 sopranos, 3 altos. Ages: 18 and up. The Rotary Club of Flagler County is looking for bands and musical groups to perform seasonal music at the Fantasy Lights in Central Park, Palm Coast. The free event featuring lighted displays around the lake, Santa’s Village, Train rides for the kids also has a nightly live performance of seasonal music at 7 p.m. each night for the month of December. The music is carried throughout the park and Rotary provides some sound equipment and lights.
