The Rotary Club of Flagler Beach is once again hosting the Holiday at the Beach parade this Saturday, Dec. 3, along resilient State Road A1A in the city and is welcoming last minute parade applicants this week. See the application below.

“We are beyond excited to welcome visitors to Flagler Beach after Hurricane Matthew,” said Flagler Beach President Cindy Dalecki, herself the now-familiar face and voice of most parades in Flagler Beach. “We encourage everyone to enter the parade or bring the family to come watch,” she added.

The much-anticipated Santa will parachute onto the beach at 1 p.m. just north of the pier, hop on a Flagler Beach fire truck, and launch the parade.

Visitors are invited to bring a toy for Project Share, the major service project of the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach for 17 years. Christmas toys, clothes and bicycles are provided to local children whose families don’t have the means to do so. There will be pickup trucks in the parade for spectators to put their toy donations. The Flagler Beach Historical Museum will also serve as a drop off location for the toys.

There will be a performance area at the intersection of A1A and State Road 100 and groups or marching bands are invited to perform. The parade route runs from A1A North at 6th Street to A1A South at 6th Street. Parade entries are free and the application can be downloaded below. Email [email protected] with any questions.

Immediately after the parade trophies for Best of Parade, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Best Marching Unit, Best Holiday Theme and Judge’s Choice will be given out at Veterans’ Park.

On Friday evening, join the City of Flagler Beach for Music in the Park with Christmas music and the lighting of the Christmas tree in Veterans’ Memorial Park. There will be lots of children’s activities and vendors from 6 to 9 p.m.
