The Flagler Beach City Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. Commissioners will discuss legislative priorities for 2019 and consider approving Landmark Properties as a qualified provider of real estate services to the city for two years, based on their response to the city’s Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Commissioners will also yet again discuss the state of affairs at the city-owned but privately -run golf course, including but not limited to the loss of revenue, condition of the course after Stormwater, and golf committee. Terry McManus of Flagler Golf Management, the company running the course, requested the item. It is the first meeting of the commission since Commissioner Eric Cooley was arrested on a domestic violence charge. He has not spoken publicly of the arrest.
Thursday, Friday: The Association of Florida Colleges’ third annual Campus Safety Symposium, at Daytona State College, 1200 W International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach. The Symposium brings together experts in a combination of plenary and educational sessions to address current safety challenges facing our campuses statewide. The symposium will focus on sharing best practices and resources to assure that every college in Florida has the necessary tools to implement effective and successful campus safety policies and practices. Topics and concurrent sessions will include presentations and panels covering law enforcement practices, threat assessment, mental health, incident recovery, behavioral intervention, facilities, Title IX, FERPA, and student services. Titles of sessions are expected to include, “Taking a Preventative Stance on Campus Safety,” and “Active Shooter — Run, Hide, Fight.” CAMPUS SAFETY SYMPOSIUM BEGINS: The Association of Florida Colleges and the state Division of Florida Colleges will begin a two-day campus safety symposium in Volusia County. Titles of sessions are expected to include, “Taking a Preventative Stance on Campus Safety,” and “Active Shooter — Run, Hide, Fight.”

The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission meets at 8:30 a.m. for the third of three days in the third of seven sets of two-day meetings, with such meetings scheduled every month through November. he Florida Channel will be broadcasting the meeting and will be streaming it live here. CITRUS CROP WRAPPED UP: The U.S. Department of Agriculture will provide final numbers for the 2017-2018 citrus harvest. Little change is expected from a June forecast that showed orange production off 34.7 percent from the prior growing season and grapefruit production also down sharply. (Thursday, noon. The numbers will be posted at nass.usda.gov/fl.)
BIKES COULD REPLACE PARKING: The Florida Department of Transportation District 2 will hold a meeting about plans to replace on-street parking and add bicycle lanes to a portion of Newberry Road in Alachua County.
