A tan pit bull had attacked two people by the time a man pinned it down and apparently killed the dog by the time sheriff's deputies showed up. The image above is a file photo unrelated to the dog in question. (Michael Curi)

The pit bull had first attacked a child walking home from the bus stop then rushed and bit a resident who’d come out after hearing calls for help. The dog died after being pinned down.

A 45-year-old resident of Patric Drive in Palm Coast was attacked and seriously injured on her lip and belly by a pit bull, which then attacked and injured Flagler County Sheriff’s deputy Jonathan Schmidt as Schmidt was investigating the incident the following day.

In the third Palm Coast biting incident involving a pit bull or a pit bull mix in two weeks, a dog got loose from the two-level house to the left, on Regent Lane, and went a few doors down, where he attacked an elderly woman Monday.

For the second time in two weeks a pit bull slipped through the front door and attacked the person there, in this case a 9-year-old girl who was severely injured.
