The Palm Coast Arts Foundation presents its seventh annual Picnic & Pops concert Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Palm Coast’s Central Park at Town Center. This year’s concert of classical and pop favorites will feature Morihiko Nakahara, Associate Conductor of the Jacksonville Sympathy Orchestra. Maestro Nakahara first conducted the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra at a Picnics & Pops concert in 2010.
He is recognized by critics and audiences alike as a brilliant young conductor with a poet’s sensitivity. Nakahara’s posts include: Music Director and Conductor of the South Carolina Philharmonic; Associate Conductor of the Spokane Symphony; and former Music Director and Conductor of the Holland Symphony Orchestra, in Michigan.
Guests to the Palm Coast concert may bring food and beverages starting at 6:30 p.m. and enjoy the concert beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 for arts foundation members, $40 for non-members, and $350 for a table of 10. Proceeds go toward defraying the evening’s costs, and the ongoing arts foundation’s fundraising toward building a new art center in Town Center. Tickets usually sell out. Patrons are encouraged to buy theirs early.
