badcock flagler beach — Badcock held a grand opening for its Flagler Beach store Wednesday, in the space once filled by Food Lion, ending a decade-long drought of business there. ‘The city is excited about having Badcock Furniture open another store in the Flagler Square shopping center,’ said Flagler Beach City Commission Chairman Rick Belhumeur. ‘They will certainly play a big part in the revival of the once defunct shopping center while also providing jobs for locals.’ (© FlaglerLive)

The Young Professionals Group and the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce host the fifth graduating class of Youth Leadership Flagler. Concerts: The Bunnell Elementary Spring Choral Concert is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the school’s New Café, the Indian Trails Band concert is at the school’s cafeteria at

The Online auction to benefit the G.W. Carver Center in Bunnell is now open. The purpose of the auction is to raise money to go back into the development of the Carver Center. The Flagler County School Board and Flagler County Government have both owned and managed the facility over the years. Due to budgetary constraints it appeared it would be necessary to close the facility in 2010. A coalition was born to save the Gym and restore it as a community center. FPL WELL PERMIT AT ISSUE: The Florida Department of Environmental Protection will take public comments on a draft injection-well permit for Florida Power & Light. The draft permit involves a project at FPL’s Turkey Point complex in Miami-Dade County. An injection well would be used to dispose of hypersaline groundwater. REVENUE ESTIMATING CONFERENCE MEETS: The Revenue Estimating Conference will hold what is known as a post-session “impact” conference. (Thursday, 9 a.m., 117 Knott Building, the Capitol.)

UTILITY HURRICANE PLANS ON TABLE: The Florida Public Service Commission will continue a workshop to review hurricane preparation and response plans for electric utilities. The issue has drawn widespread attention since Hurricane Irma hammered the state in September, leaving millions of people temporarily without electricity. Utilities also spent hundreds of millions of dollars to restore power and rebuild systems. (Thursday, 9:30 a.m., Betty Easley Conference Center, 4075 Esplanade Way, Tallahassee.)

SUPREME COURT RELEASES OPINIONS: The Florida Supreme Court is scheduled to release its weekly opinions. (Thursday, 11 a.m.)

BUSH TAKES PART IN UCF COMMENCEMENT: Former Gov.
