The Flagler County Technical Review Committee meets at 9 a.m. in the First Floor Conference Room of the Government Services Building, Bunnell.
The Tourist Development Council meets at 10 a.m. in board chambers at Government Services Building, Bunnell.
The Palm Coast Planning & Land Development Regulation Board meets at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall in Town Center. The board will discuss a proposed ordinance on transportation, parking and “connectivity.” For example, Parking and driveway standards for single-family homes and duplexes were also updated to reflect current housing trends, according to the administration’s summary of the proposed changes, which can be read here.
The Family Life Center, the shelter for abused women, hosts a ribbon cutting and an open house to mark the opening of its new building and office space, 4 to 6 p.m. at 4721 East Moody Blvd. Suite #503.
Buddy Taylor Middle School hosts its spring showcase for incoming students next school year, starting at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
The Flagler Palm Coast High School Starlets will be presenting their annual Starlet Showcase on April 18th at the Flagler Auditorium. This showcase is presented to show the hard work and dedication this team develops over the entire year. From spinning a flag or weapon to a contemporary dance or tap piece, these students love to perform. It is amazing to see the growth of these students as they enter in during the summer and where they are at the end of each year! River To Sea Preserve Trail Walk, 9 a.m. GTM Research Reserve Marineland Field Office, 9741 Ocean Shore Blvd., a guided trail walk at the River-to-Sea Preserve. See the changes wrought by Hurricane Irma. Then, step into the ancient Florida coastal woodlands along the preserve trail and learn how Native Americans once thrived there on nature’s bounty. Your GTM Research Reserve interpretive guide will point out indigenous plants bordering the trail to the Matanzas River where the mangroves grow. Look for the GTM Field Office sign, just South of Marineland Dolphin Adventure (across from the ocean). Your guide will meet you in the parking lot. The Online auction to benefit the G.W. Carver Center in Bunnell is now open. Art Work, Local Experiences, Restaurant Gift Cards, Baskets, FCYC Summer Camp Registration & Trip Specials, Window Cleaning, Kayaking Tour, Furniture, World Wide Time Share, Camping Rentals, and the list goes on and on. The purpose of the auction is to raise money to go back into the development of the Carver Center. The Flagler County School Board and Flagler County Government have both owned and managed the facility over the years. Due to budgetary constraints it appeared it would be necessary to close the facility in 2010. A coalition was born to save the Gym and restore it as a community center. Our foundation was created to serve this facility with grant funding and equipment/supply needs. In order to participate in this auction you must register for a bidder account here. CONSTITUTION REVISION COMMISSION MEETS: The Florida Constitution Revision Commission is scheduled to meet as it finalizes proposed constitutional amendments for the November ballot. The commission is considering a dozen ballot proposals that embody 24 potential changes to the Florida Constitution. If the measures win support from at least 22 of the 37 commission members, they will be placed on the Nov. 6 general-election ballot. (Wednesday, 9 a.m., Senate chamber, the Capitol.)
PAROLE CASES HEARD: The Florida Commission on Offender Review will hear numerous parole cases from across the state. (Wednesday, 9 a.m., Betty Easley Conference Center, 4075 Esplanade Way, Tallahassee.)

NURSING HOME GENERATORS AT ISSUE: Agency for Health Care Administration Secretary Justin Senior, U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., and former state Sen. Eleanor Sobel, D-Hollywood, will take part in a “Congressional Consortium for Safe Seniors” event. They will address new requirements that nursing homes and assisted-living facilities have emergency power sources, such as generators. The requirements came after the deaths of residents of a Broward County nursing home that lost its air conditioning in Hurricane Irma. OPIOID BILL DISCUSSED: A multidisciplinary health-care board will discuss rules to carry out a newly passed bill (HB 21) that seeks to help curb the state’s opioid epidemic. Missing Turtle: A large, 110-lb tortoise has gone missing. It was last seen in the area of the Pet Supermarket-Joe’s Pizza-Taco Bell area of Palm coast, off Palm Coast Parkway.
