City Manager Lawrence Williams is in no hurry to nominate a chief. He’s frozen the position until Dec. 1, by which time he said he’ll announce his decision. John Pollinger was a candidate for sheriff in 2012, Steve Clair was just passed over for police chief in Flagler Beach, and Randy Burke is Bunnell’s acting chief.
Four Flagler Men Sought in Kidnapping and Gang Rape of a Woman at Cowart Hunting Camp
The Flagler County Sheriff is looking for four men accused of kidnapping a woman they’d encountered at Finn’s bar in Flagler Beach and gang-raping her at the Cowart Hunting Camp in western Flagler County on March 20. The men are Charles L. Cowart of west Bunnell, Daniel and Frank Goggans, and Kurt Benjamin, of Palm Coast.

Man Drags Another With His Car in an Apparent Drug Deal Gone Bad. Both Are Arrested.
Corey Miller and John Stubbs, both of Bunnell, were arrested on Railroad Street Tuesday after Miller dragged Stubbs with his car following what appeared to be a deal for cocaine that cops may have interrupted. Both men have previous records, including four years in prison for Stubbs on a cocaine trafficking conviction.

Ashley Shelby, a 23-year-old resident of Old Haw Creek Road in Bunnell, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman Wednesday, a second-degree felony that carries a maximum penalty of 15 years.

Adam Giddens confessed to the robbery of numerous weapons at a home in Bunnell a year ago, and implicated Dane McReynolds, who had fled to Arkansas until his capture Saturday at a house on County Road 304 in Bunnell. Giddens was sentenced to three years in prison in May.
