John O. Hill, 76, Killed in Wreck With Teen Driver on S.R. 13 in St. Johns

John Oscar Hill, 76, of Orange Park, was killed in an afternoon wreck with a teen-age driver at the intersection of Bishop Estates Road and State Road 13 just south of Jacksonville Tuesday, February 9.

Hill was driving a 1998 Saturn west on Bishop Estates Road. Jonathan N. Ford, 17, of St. Johns County, was driving north on State Road 13 in a 2006 Acura. Hill attempted to cross the northbound lanes of S.R. 13 in front of Ford, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. Ford was unable to stop in time. His vehicle struck the driver’s side of Hill’s Saturn.

Ford did not sustain any injuries. Hill was transported to Shands Hospital iN jacksonville, where he was pronounced dead, the highwya patrol reports. The wreck took place at 3:25 p.m.
