Grace Community Food Pantry, 245 Education Way, Bunnell, drive-thru open today from noon to 3 p.m. The food pantry is organized by Pastor Charles Silano and Grace Community Food Pantry, a Disaster Relief Agency in Flagler County. Feeding Northeast Florida helps local children and families, seniors and active and retired military members who struggle to put food on the table. Working with local grocery stores, manufacturers, and farms we rescue high-quality food that would normally be wasted and transform it into meals for those in need. Notably: Funnily idiotic: Trump pretending he’d read Bonfire of the Vanities when he had not, but who really read that book, bestseller though it was? It was the kind of bestsellers people buy or gift to each other but never really read, like most of Tom Wolf’s books, entertaining though they can be (he’s good at set pieces, but he’s not the Balzac or Zola type novelist he thought he was. No snob can be. I vaguely remember reading Bonfires. The note in the back of the book tells me it was December 2012. Its 660 pages did not leave an impression, though for some reason I marked out this passage on page 432: “And in that moment Sherman made the terrible discovery that men make about their fathers sooner or later. For the first time he realized that the man before him was not an aging father but a boy, a boy much like himself, a boy who grew up and had a child of his own and, as best he could, out of a sense of duty and, perhaps, love, adopted a role called Being a Father so that his child would have something mythical and infinitely important: a Protector, who would keep a lid on all the chaotic and catastrophic possibilities of life. And now that boy, that good actor, had grown old and fragile and tired, wearier than ever at the thought of trying to hoist the Protector’s armor back onto his shoulders again, now, so far down the line.” It occurs to me, as it should occur to anyone reading that passage, that it might have done Trump good to have read it.

OPCE member nations voted to further increase production by 547,000 barrels per day, a fifth straight months of votes to increase production. This will likely be the last vote for some time to increase production, as OPEC voted in March to begin unwinding previous votes to curtail production.
