Wednesday through Saturday: Matanzas High School presents “Shrek The Musical,” featuring Matanzas’s drama students and live music accompanying 19 songs, performed by Matanzas High and Flagler Youth Orchestra musicians. The April 25 show at 7 p.m. is for friends and family members, actual opening night is April 26 for the 7 p.m. show. April 27 and 28 also have 7 p.m. shows, plus a 2 p.m. matinee on April 28. Flagler’s Emergency Management staff holds its multi-jurisdictional quarterly Local Mitigation Strategy public meeting to discuss grant funding, ongoing project progress and updates to Community Rating System program implementation efforts. Anybody interested in attending the meeting or wishing to learn more about mitigation is encouraged to attend or contact the county’s mitigation planner. Daytona State College hosts a health fair featuring dozens of varied healthcare providers signed up, giving the college’s health science students the opportunity to take their studies to the next level – a job. DSC’s spring Health Sciences Job Fair is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Hosseini Center on the Daytona Beach Campus located at 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd.

State MPA at FPC: The Flagler Palm Coast High School Band Program hosts the 2018 State MPA North Concert Festival at the Flagler Auditorium, 5500 SR 100, Palm Coast. Forty-four of the best high school concert bands in North Florida perform over three days. Each performance is critically evaluated by college professors and band leaders and is used as a vehicle for continued growth and to demonstrate students’ abilities to apply musical fundamentals and concepts in an ensemble performance setting. Attendance is free and performances begin at noon and end at 9 p.m. each day. Local bands all performed on Monday.
A meeting of the Compassionate Friends is scheduled at the Vitas Office at 4 North Old Kings Road (across from Kentucky Fried Chicken) in Palm Coast. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. The Compassionate Friends, a nonprofit self-help bereavement support organization for families that have experienced the death of a child. The meeting is open to all parents, grandparents, and siblings over age 18 who has suffered the loss of a child of any age. For more information, call John Brady at 610-428-3139. The Online auction to benefit the G.W. Carver Center in Bunnell is now open. Art Work, Local Experiences, Restaurant Gift Cards, Baskets, FCYC Summer Camp Registration & Trip Specials, Window Cleaning, Kayaking Tour, Furniture, World Wide Time Share, Camping Rentals, and the list goes on and on. The purpose of the auction is to raise money to go back into the development of the Carver Center. The Flagler County School Board and Flagler County Government have both owned and managed the facility over the years. Due to budgetary constraints it appeared it would be necessary to close the facility in 2010. A coalition was born to save the Gym and restore it as a community center. Our foundation was created to serve this facility with grant funding and equipment/supply needs. In order to participate in this auction you must register for a bidder account here.
