Free For All Friday on WNZF: Host David Ayres welcomes former County Commissioner George Hanns, the Flagler Historical Society;s Sisco Deen, who will talk about upcoming Flagler Centennial celebrations, and Palm Coast Mayor Milissa Holland, who’s laying down the Mayor’s Health Challenge, one o several health initiatives Holland plans to launch throughout the year. This one already involves all the county’s mayors and many of its elected officials. The show begins with a commentary by FlaglerLive Editor Pierre Tristam on Bill O’Reilly’s downfall.

Friday: The Flagler County School Board continues to interview the three candidates for superintendent left standing. But unlike Thursday’s interviews, which were conducted by the whole board, the candidates today will each have one-on-one, one-hour sessions, starting at 8 a.m. The sessions are spread through five locations in the Government Services Building, where school staff will accommodate any member of the public wishing to sit in on any given interview. The board requests, however, that those wishing to sit in do so at the beginning of an interview and stay throughout. The candidates vying for the superintendent slot are Jeffrey Umbaugh, Gerald Wilson and James Tager.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday: “A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum,” the musical by by Stephen Sondheim, Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart opens Friday evening at the Flagler Playhouse for a three-weekend engagement. In exchange for his freedom, a crafty slave struggles to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan for his young master. Sondheim’s joyous musical romp through Rome includes desperate lovers, scheming neighbors, mistaken identities, and secrets behind every toga. Friday and Saturday Evening shows at 7:30 pm, Sunday Matinees at 2:00 pm. Door open ½ hour before show time. $20 Adults/$15 Students (Discounts available for groups of ten or more). Friday, Sunday: The Community Chorus of Palm Coast is starting their 7th concert season by honoring the leadership of departing Chorus Director, Linda Hodges, with her favorite selections. Musical Memories….A Director’s Celebration! will be performed at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Drive, on Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m.

Saturday: Cheer at the Pier: Surfside Sips & Samples. Join us on the Flagler Beach Pier with Live Music and local restaurants serving food, wine and beer tastings! It’s Flagler County’s Centennial – join the Flagler Beach Museum as we celebrate 100 years of history! Tickets $20 in Advance, $30 at the Door. Saturday: Flagler Volunteer Services Presents: “A Nite of Magic” at the Hilton Garden Inn, Palm Coast, 5:30 p.m.

Sunday: The Chamber Players of Palm Coast, under the direction of Paige Dashner Long, are in concert at 3:30 p.m. at Palm Coast United Methodist Church, 5200 Belle Terre Pkwy, performing works by Gluck, Abel, Bach, and Handel. This concert will also include a special appearance by the Harmony Chamber Orchestra, the advanced orchestra from the Flagler Youth Orchestra Program, directed by Sue Cryan. They will play one piece at the beginning of the concert and join together at the end of the concert to perform Handel’s Water Music Overture and the Lady Gaga Fugue. The concert is free and open to all. Please invite family and friends to this wonderful concert, as well as forward this email to those who may be interested. Unemployment: The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity is scheduled to release March unemployment figures. (Friday, 10 a.m.)

Orlando attorney John Morgan, a potential gubernatorial candidate who led efforts to pass a medical-marijuana constitutional amendment last year, is slated to speak to the Tampa Tiger Bay Club. (Friday, noon, Bryan Glazer Family Jewish Community Center, 522 North Howard Ave., Tampa.)

In Coming Days in Palm Coast, Flagler and the Occasional Beyond:

♦ April 26: Anyone whose child has died is invited to an informal meeting to consider eventually establishing a local chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a nonprofit self-help bereavement support organization for families that have experienced the death of a child. There are some 650 such chapters across the country. The meeting will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Florida Hospital Flagler in classrooms A&B. for more information, call John Brady at 610/428-3139. To learn more about The Compassionate Friends, visit their national website at www.compassionatefriends.org. The meeting is open to all parents, grandparents, and siblings over age 18 who has suffered the loss of a child of any age.
♦ April 26: Free legal clinics: The Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller in partnership with the Flagler County Bar Association is proud to present a four part series of legal clinics free of charge. Come out and speak to attorneys who are experts in their respective field of law for free. These clinics will be held at the Flagler County courthouse in the 1st floor jury assembly room, 1769 E. ♦ April 28: City Market Place business owners have collectively come together to host a free Jazz Concert for the public at 7:30 p.m. The Jazz Concert will feature the Flagler-Palm Coast High School Jazz Band and is a fundraiser for the band. All sponsoring businesses will also have an Open House from 6 to 7 p.m. There will be free giveaways, prizes and a raffle drawing. The Flagler County Sheriff’s office will provide free fingerprinting of children. We would like to invite all Flagler County residents to join us for a wonderful evening of music under the stars.
♦ April 29: The People’s Climate Movement March, in conjunction with a march scheduled in Washington, D.C., will march locally, meeting at Wadsworth Park at 10 am and marching over the bridge to Veteran’s Park in Flagler Beach, where there we will a rally and speakers sharing a wide variety of issues and information on how to get involved.

♦ May 16: The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission holds a hearing the the case of Circuit Judge Scott DuPont, who faces several charges of misconduct during his 2016 re-election election campaign. He has admitted wrongdoing. The 9 a.m. hearing is taking place in courtroom 406-7 at the Duval County Courthouse, 501 W. Adams Street, Jacksonville, before a six-member panel: Eugene Pettis, Steven P. DeLuca, Robert Morris, Michele Cummings, Harry Duncanson (a lay member of the commission) and Jerome S. Osteryoung.
