Collective Bargaining Contract Negotiations between Flagler County Professional Firefighters Association, the firefighters’ union, and Flagler County government, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. in the Administration Conference Room, third floor, Government Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Blvd.

The Flagler County Technical Review Committee meets at 9 a.m. in the First Floor Conference Room of the Government Services Building, Bunnell.

The Tourist Development Council meets at 10 a.m. in board chambers at Government Services Building, Bunnell. The council is expected to approve a slew of small grants for local cultural and civic organizations’ events, and significantly larger grants for a few other organizations, including $10,000 for the Flagler Auditorium and several out of town concerns that bring their events to Flagler, plus $150,000 for Marineland to help pay for phase three the Marineland Marina, a $724,605 project that got a boost from the TDC in 2010, with some resistance from the County Commission. The project would add 300 feet of floating docks for day use and transient vessels.

The Palm Coast Planning Board meets at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall in Town Center.

The Sons of the American Revolution, Flagler Chapter, present the 2018 EMS Medal & Certificate to Palm Coast Firefighter/EMT Travis Greco at 10 a.m. at Palm Coast Fire Station 25, 1250 Belle Terre Pkwy.

The Flagler Beach Economic Development Task Force meets at 4 p.m. at City Hall.

Navy Bombing in the Ocala National Forest: Navy training schedules indicate that inert and live bombing will take place at the Pinecastle Range Complex located in the Ocala National Forest this week. Bombings at times can be heard in Flagler-Palm Coast. The bombings are scheduled as follows:

  • Wednesday: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Live Bombing
  • Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Live Bombing

During bombing periods wildlife may be temporarily displaced. Use extra caution when driving through the Ocala National forest and surrounding areas. Secure any items around your residence that could attract wildlife. Always be mindful of larger animals including black bears and practice bearwise measures. Announcements:

Nightly lane closures on Florida Park Drive to begin Monday, July 16 and continuing until Friday night, July 20. The Palm Coast Utility Department will be closing one lane of Florida Park Drive — a segment at a time – from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. nightly to allow for lining of the sanitary sewer system. The project will be done in rotating segments all along Florida Park Drive. Traffic control will be provided.

BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETS: The State Board of Education will meet in Central Florida and discuss issues such as the new “hope scholarship” program, charter-school cases from Palm Beach County and turnaround option plans for schools in Polk, Hillsborough, DeSoto, Pinellas, Marion, Brevard, Duval, Putnam and Escambia counties. (Wednesday, 9 a.m., Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, 1500 Masters Blvd., ChampionsGate.)

FOLK COUNCIL MEETS: The Florida Folk Council will meet. (Wednesday, 10 a.m., R.A. Gray Building, 500 South Bronough St., Tallahassee.)

COURT FUNDING AT ISSUE: The Revenue Estimating Conference will discuss what are known as Article V revenues, which help fund the court system. (Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., 117 Knott Building, the Capitol.)

TRUMP SON CAMPAIGNS WITH DESANTIS: Donald Trump Jr. is scheduled to appear at a campaign event with Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis. Also expected to appear are U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., and Fox News host Jeanine Pirro. (Wednesday, 2 p.m., B.B. King’s Blues Club, 9101 International Dr., Orlando.)

GOP GUBERNATORIAL FORUM HELD: The Villages Republican Club, Villagers for Trump, the Sumter County Republican Executive Committee and the Republican Federated Women of The Villages will hold a forum for GOP gubernatorial candidates. (Wednesday, 3 p.m., The Savannah Regional Recreation Center, 1575 Buena Vista Blvd., The Villages.)

DEEPWATER HORIZON RESTORATION DISCUSSED: The Deepwater Horizon Trustee Council will hold a workshop about damage caused by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and discuss restoration efforts. (Wednesday, 5:30 p.m., Marriott Courtyard Gulfport Beachfront, 1600 East Beach Blvd., Gulfport, Miss.)

SHARK FISHING AT ISSUE: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold a meeting in Manatee County to take input about shore-based shark fishing. (Wednesday, 6 p.m. State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, Library and Learning Center, 5840 26th St. West, Bradenton.)

‘WOMEN ON THE RUN’ PROGRAM SLATED: The Women’s Foundation of Florida will hold a “Women on the Run” event in Palm Beach County to help mentor and train women to run for office. (Wednesday, 6 p.m., Mandel Public Library, 411 Clematis St., West Palm Beach.)

DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES DEBATE: The five major Democratic gubernatorial candidates — Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, former Congresswoman Gwen Graham, Palm Beach real-estate investor Jeff Greene, Orlando-area entrepreneur Chris King and former Miami Beach mayor Philip Levine — will debate in Lee County. The event will be the next-to-last debate before the Aug. 28 Democratic primary. (Wednesday, 7 p.m., Florida Gulf Coast University, Cohen Center, 10501 FGCU Blvd. South, Fort Myers. The debate will be aired in Southwest Florida on WINK TV and will be streamed online at winknews.com.)
