Notably: Looks like my old compatriots are among the most unhappy people in the world: Lebanon ranks among the bottom three least-happy places on earth, according to a new survey. Who can blame them? They’re just coming off an economic depression worse than anything they experienced during the civil war (1975-1990), and yet another war at the hands of Hezbollah and Israel. Surprisingly, the United States still ranks in the blue, among the happier countries. To me it’s felt more like Lebanon, though ranking 24th isn’t exactly jumping for joy. From Statista: “In 2012, the United Nations proclaimed March 20 as the International Day of Happiness or World Happiness Day, which has been held on this date every year since. The aim is to promote awareness for a “more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes the happiness and well-being of all people”. Although happiness and satisfaction are subjective parameters, the team behind the World Happiness Report has once again produced a country ranking this year that reveals clear differences between Western industrialized nations and countries in Asia and Africa. In order to map the satisfaction of respondents in the 147 countries surveyed, participants were asked to rate their level of satisfaction with their current life on a ten-point scale. This was used to calculate an average value for the results between 2022 and 2024 for each country. As this chart, based on the report shows, Finland (7.736), Denmark (7.521) and Iceland (7.515) are the countries with the most satisfied residents according to calculations, while the three lowest scores are found among the residents of Lebanon (3.19), Sierra Leone (3.00) and Afghanistan (1.36). The United States is ranked 24th out of the 147 countries in this year’s evaluation. […] It’s important to note here that the ranking of the World Happiness Report is not an objective survey based on key figures such as gross domestic product per capita, life expectancy or the quality of the social system. According to the authors, these are analyzed as “supporting factors” in the text of the report but have no influence on the score.”

… but who does not suffer, either in body or in mind? This world is a valley of misery, as you know. Happiness is just a dream, and pain is real; I have been experiencing it for eighty years. I know nothing other than to resign myself and tell myself that flies were born to be eaten by spiders, and men to be devoured by sorrows.
–From a Voltaire letter of March 16, 1774.

So what’s the deal now? Russia is our business partner in extorting land and mineral rights from other countries? Russia is our ally? Europe, Mexico and Canada are our enemies?
Elon Musk, who is making decisions about our lives without our vote, has citizenship in the U.S., Canada and South Africa. Who is he loyal to? Anyone? Who is he doing all this firing of U.S. citizens for, you?
Don’t y’all question this stuff?

Haha history and laws don’t matter it’s whatever the orange stain wants to target. He is far too ignorant to think of consequences, hence the let children starve for a made up dollar. (Happening now) they are total child molesting sickos! I hope we can send the republican treasonous traitors off to prison in another country and shave their heads and never hear from them again…..Cause that’s cool to do now once the constitution got raped by a known rapist haha!

My mantra…
Happiness is a state of mind and not a destination one achieves or arrives at, it would seem nearly impossible to quantify by region. Happiness is personal and comes in fits, starts, and stops and I imagine is rarely a never ending Shanghai-La. Life feels like it gets in the way sometimes times. We all forget to count our blessings or to remember what’s really important, what makes us smile.
We each make the decision, consciously or unconsciously how we are going to go about our lives.
What many people never grasp is that life is very much like a mirror. You receive based on your charitable contributions. They may be very small like opening a door for someone, or simply saying thank you. You don’t need to be a big shot.
“A big man can be small but a small man can never be big.”
It costs nothing to be kind and friendly to your fellow man, but can return millions someday. The gift of kindness is free.
