Friday: The Flagler County Canvassing Board meets at the elections supervisor’s office at the Government Services Building in Bunnell at 5 p.m. to canvass overseas ballots and discuss official results.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: “The Rainmaker,” at City Repertory Theatre, directed by John Sbordone. “The Rainmaker” is at heart a sentimental comedy that reprises some of the oldest mythologies of America’s Great Plains optimism: the faker and the husband-hunting rube whose mutual combustion unravels their greater selves. 7:30 p.m. Friday Nov. 18 and Saturday Nov. 19, and at 2 p.m. Sunday Nov. 20 in City Marketplace, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite 207B, Palm Coast. Saturday: Hoop Shoot, 4 p.m. at the Palm Coast Elks Lodge #2709: This free-throw competition lets boys and girls compete for a chance to represent their community at the National Hoop Shoot in Springfield, Mass., home of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. At the conclusion of the National Shoot, one boy and one girl from each age group will win a national title and will have their names permanently inscribed at the Basketball Hall of Fame. Contestants will be assigned an age-group based on the age that they will be on April 1, 2017. Contestants must be 8 years old by April 1, 2015, to participate. Please bring a copy of the shooter’s birth certificate, without it they may not be able to advance to the next level. The contest is open to all girls and boys 8 – 13 years of age. ♦ Nov. 21: The Flagler County Commission hosts a farewell reception for Commissioner George Hanns, whose 24 years of service–he had been the longest-serving elected official until his loss in the Nov. 8 election–are ending. The reception will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of the Government Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Blvd.
♦ Nov. 22: The Flagler County Canvassing Board meets at the elections supervisor’s office at the Government Services Building in Bunnell at 10 a.m. to conduct a post-election, manual audit.
♦ Nov. 22: All Flagler Democratic Club holds its first general meeting. The organization has just been chartered. 7 p.m. at the Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE.
♦ Nov. 29: A hearing is scheduled before Circuit Judge Scott DuPont in the case of Dunn v. Flagler County Schools, the case involving an allegation that two children were bullied and one of them was sexually assaulted by other children at a voluntary pre-kindergarten at Old Kings Elementary school in 2015. ♦ Dec. 4: Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Memorial Gardens and Crematory is hosting the annual Candlelight Service of Remembrance at 6 p.m. at the Garden of Memory Mausoleum located at 511 Old Kings Road, South in Flagler Beach. The event, now in its 13th year, usually draws between 300 and 400 people. Details here.
♦ Dec. 10: Daytona State College Enrollment Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wetherell Center (Bldg. 100), 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach. Students can take advantage of the one-stop events to complete everything from admission to registration and have a chance to win a $350 scholarship (Dec. 10 only) for a free class from the Daytona State Foundation. Students start by completing a Daytona State application, then meet with an Admissions Advisor and Financial Aid Counselor, take an assessment test (if applicable), meet with an Academic Advisor, and then lock in their schedule.
