A two-vehicle crash just past midday at Royal Palms Parkway and Point Pleasant Drive in Palm Coast resulted in the death of one of the drivers, according to authorities. The Palm Coast Fire Police shut down Royal Palms Parkway at Belle Terre Parkway to the west and Town Center Boulevard to the east.

Acknowledging that journalism can inflict wounds unnecessarily, AP will no longer name those arrested for minor crimes when the news service is unlikely to cover the story’s subsequent developments. Often, such stories’ publication hinges on an odd or entertaining quirk, and the names are irrelevant. Yet, the ramifications can loom large and be long-lasting for the persons named.

A 63-year-old Palm Coast resident died in a two-vehicle car crash at West Hampton Drive and Pine Lakes Parkway just past 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The death, however, appears to have been the result of a heart attack.

Better measures need to be put in place in order to protect victims during future outbreaks and keep everyone safe during lockdowns.

Joseph Carroll, 42, and Allyson Bennett, 39, are accused of selling the drugs that killed Michael Burnett Jr. in 2018. Bennett this week pleaded to manslaughter, and faces up to 15 years in prison. Carroll was indicted on the first-degree murder charge, a capital felony, on Tuesday.

Michael Burnett Jr. was 31 when he overdosed on drugs allegedly sold to him by Joseph Carroll, 42, and Allyson Bennett, 39, in 2018. Bennett this week pleaded to manslaughter, and faces up to 15 years in prison. Carroll was indicted on the first-degree murder charge, a capital felony, on Tuesday.

Using surveillance video footage, detectives determined that Brenan Hill had hidden the gun used in the shooting behind that building at the Publix shopping center at Palm Coast Parkway and Belle Terre. They found the gun there, wrapped in a bloody towel.

It was Brenan Hill, 32, who unknowingly led detectives to the gun used in the shooting of his 22-year-old girlfriend in Palm Coast last March, and the victim’s own recordings of him that made him the chief suspect, as a trove of digital footprints unraveled his many lies to detectives.

Bo Jeremiah Sirrine, 23, and Tonda Royal, 55, once shared a cell at the Flagler County jail. They also shared a predilection for underage girls and were both charged with raping girls–a 13 year old, in Sirrine’s case, a 16 year old, in Royal’s case. Sirrine walked out of the Flagler jail a free man weeks ago. Royal is serving 12 years in state prison.

Wanted Felon in 2-Hour Standoff With Deputies Had No Gun, But Was Very Concerned About His Phone’s Safety

Joshua R. Siedel, the 27-year-old Bunnell resident who took Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies and Bunnell Police Department officers on a brief chase down U.S. 1 then was at the center of a two-hour standoff, threatening suicide, surrendered peacefully but faces numerous charges from that encounter and four additional felony warrants that had caused his Buick’s license plate to trigger a fugitive warning in midafternoon Wednesday.

Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies were in a standoff with a 28-year-old man on U.S. 1 starting at midafternoon today, in the area of Cemetery Road near the county line. Traffic on U.S. 1 in both directions was shut down for 90 minutes, when the man was taken into custody.

Monserrate Teron, a 57-year-old Army veteran and resident of 8 Edwin Lane in Palm Coast since June 2018, was arrested and booked at the Flagler County jail Monday on charges of raping and molesting a 7-year-old girl with whom he had a familial relationship. The alleged assaults started when the girl was in kindergarten. She is now 9.

Flagler sheriff’s deputies on Friday afternoon faced a man with a gun to his head, intent on suicide, but with rapid movements and non-lethal weapon managed to disarm him and take control of the situation, the second time in seven days that they’d prevented a suicide by gun.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly and and Chief Mark Strobridge found themselves in the thick of a chase for an accused carjacker who’d just fled from a deputy after pointing a rifle at a passenger. The chase ended in Daytona Beach with the suspect’s arrest after he was tased.
