Golf course dispute: The Flagler Beach City Commission is scheduled to hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. at City Hall to decide the fate of the city-owned, privately run nine-hole golf club at the south end of town. The meeting was requested by Commission Chairman Rick Belhumeur and Commissioner Jane Mealy. The golf club has allegedly not been watering the course to bring it up to playing standards despite the city’s installation of a $70,000 irrigation system largely at the city’s expense.

Rubio mobile office hours: Staff members for U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., will hold “mobile” office hours in St. Johns, and Volusia counties: 10 a.m., St. Johns County Library, Anastasia Branch, 124 Sea Grove Main St., St. Augustine Beach. 2:30 p.m., Ormond Beach Library, 30 South Beach St., Ormond Beach.

The Inspired Mic, Palm Coast’s most daring and unpredictable open mic event, is scheduled for its monthly edition at The New Europa, European Village. Each month some of the most creative, innovative performances a person could ever hope to experience take place at The Inspired Mic. 14 presenters each month pull out slices of talent and genius to entertain the audience. Each presenter gets 7 minutes to present on a very eclectic blend of their genius. The New Europa at European Village, 101 Palm Harbor Parkway, Unit 101, Palm Coast. Doors open at 6 p.m. and presenters begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.50 advance, available at theinspiredmicus.com, or $15 at the door. Tickets include one drink (beer, wine, soda, tea, water).

Beach Bash on the Pier: The Flagler County Chamber and its Flagler Beach Area Council host the annual Beach Bash on the Pier (formerly known as Peers on the Pier) with local food, fun, drinks and live music. “Beach Bash on the Pier,” a Flagler Beach Block Party, is open to all members of the community and beyond. The event is scheduled from 5:30- 7 p.m., rain or shine. Participating chamber members will set up shop on the pier that evening to showcase their goods and services to locals and visitors, while offering giveaways and specials for guests. Your $10 entry fee will get you get you two drink tickets and appetizers while supplies last, plus a great crowd, raffles, 50/50 and the Pot o’ Gold drawing at 6:45 p.m.

Navy Bombing in the Ocala National Forest: Navy training schedules indicate that inert and live bombing will take place at the Pinecastle Range Complex located in the Ocala National Forest this week. Bombings at times can be heard in Flagler-Palm Coast. The bombings are scheduled as follows:

Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Live Bombing

During bombing periods wildlife may be temporarily displaced. Use extra caution when driving through the Ocala National forest and surrounding areas. Secure any items around your residence that could attract wildlife. Always be mindful of larger animals including black bears and practice bearwise measures. Announcements:

Nightly lane closures on Florida Park Drive to begin Monday, July 16 and continuing until Friday night, July 20. The Palm Coast Utility Department will be closing one lane of Florida Park Drive — a segment at a time – from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. nightly to allow for lining of the sanitary sewer system. The project will be done in rotating segments all along Florida Park Drive. Traffic control will be provided.

STATE ECONOMY DISCUSSED: The Economic Estimating Conference will discuss Florida economic issues. (Thursday, 9 a.m., 117 Knott Building, the Capitol.)

UCF TRUSTEES: The University of Central Florida Board of Trustees will meet after holding committee meetings. Among other things, the board will discuss a five-year capital improvement plan. (Thursday, committee meetings start at 9:45 a.m., with full board at 1 p.m., University of Central Florida, Fairwinds Alumni Center, Orlando.)

LEGISLATIVE BUDGET COMMISSION MEETS: The Joint Legislative Budget Commission, which is made up of House and Senate members, will meet and take up a series of issues. The issues include a proposal to shift $3.1 million to help fill a gap in funding for homeless-prevention services. Also, the issues include a proposal to set aside nearly $13.3 million to help fund operations of the state Office of Medical Marijuana Use. (Thursday, 10 a.m., 412 Knott Building, the Capitol.)

DANGEROUS ROADS DISCUSSED: The Florida Transportation Commission will hold a conference call, with the agenda including a discussion of the state’s most dangerous roads and highways. (Thursday, 10 a.m. Call-in number: 850-414-4978. Code: 181217)

SHARK FISHING AT ISSUE: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold a meeting in Lee County to take input about shore-based shark fishing. (Thursday, 6 p.m., Joseph P. D’Alessandro Office Complex, Room 165 C & D, 2295 Victoria Ave., Fort Myers.)
