Flagler County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking the public’s help in hopes of solving a seemingly random shooting that left a woman injured on Rockefeller Drive in Palm Coast in late May.
But the Sheriff’s Office is not being forthcoming with details about what it does know. Detectives are withholding the woman’s identity, her age, whether she lives at the Rockefeller Drive address or was merely visiting. The shooting took place in front the 1,400-square-foot rental property on Rockefeller Drive. The sheriff’s incident report also blacks out the address.
“I arrived on scene and made contact with [the victim],” the heavily redacted incident report states, “who stated she had just been shot in her driveway. When approaching the residence the blood trail/ splatter began at the beginning of the sidewalk and led into the residence. Corporal Lowe, Deputy Smith and myself made entry into the home and observed standing in the hallway to the left with an individual in the home holding pressure on the gunshot wound. We cleared the house initially and then I immediately tendered first aid.”
The woman said she was shot twice before the individual who shot her “took off running.” The victim told deputies “she has had no issues with anyone lately and has never really had issues with people that she believes would lead to this type of violence.”
The shooter was described only as a “younger” black male in his teens or twenties, wearing a dark colored shirt, red “Abercrombie type” shorts, and a red bandana, according to a sheriff’s release issued today. “It is unknown at this time if the victim was the intended target of the shooter and there is no indication that the shooting was the result of an attempted robbery.”
While detectives are actively investigating the case and awaiting the processing of evidence and search warrants, the sheriff’s office is now seeking the assistance of the community, the release states, with a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477). You could be eligible for a reward up to $5,000. Tips can also be sent directly to the FCSO via email at [email protected]. Case agent Detective Agustin Rodriguez can be reached at [email protected], at (386) 313-2131, or (386) 313-4911.
Twice two years ago deputies responded to the Rockefeller Drive house and made arrests there–the first time arresting a then-25-year-old woman who lives in the F Section but was visiting her boyfriend, and who is not the victim in the case. She was arrested on a domestic battery charge, the boyfriend being the alleged victim. The charge was later dropped after she completed a deferred prosecution agreement that included anger management classes and a mental health evaluation.
The boyfriend was Anthony Wiggins, who’s faced several battery, domestic battery and false imprisonment charges going back to 2009, some of the charges involving the woman in the 2018 case–but not the woman in the 2020 case. In 2011, when he lived on Rolling Fern Drive, Wiggins was questioned by law enforcement when he was believed to have been involved in a shooting on Palm Coast’s Leidle Drive. Another man, who accused Wiggins of pulling the trigger, was arrested and convicted in that shooting. Six months after the woman’s arrest in 2018, Wiggins was himself arrested on false imprisonment and battery charges involving his then0-girlfriend. He was still living on Rockefeller Drive at the time. The charges were dropped.
The victim of the May shooting does not have a history with law enforcement. The shooting has continued to perplex law enforcement.

A Woman Is Shot on Rockefeller Drive in Palm Coast; Assailant Runs Off
May 26–A woman was reported shot on Rockefeller Drive in Palm Coast around 1 this morning, allegedly by an assailant who then ran off. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and releasing little additional information.
The woman was reportedly standing on the driveway at the Rockefeller Drive house, an area that parallels Whiteview Parkway at the north end of the lot, when a man walked by and said hello, walking past her. When she began walking into the house, he fired, wounding her in the leg. She was transported to Halifax hospital in Daytona Beach with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office has not issued any reports on the shooting yet. Late this afternoon, it issued a brief release saying detectives were investigating, and quoting sheriff Rick Staly: “The investigation into how this person was shot is active at this time,” he said. “If anyone saw or heard anything, we would ask that they call us. This appears to be an isolated incident and while we have not made an arrest yet there is no immediate concern to the community as a whole.”
The Sheriff’s Office has not identified the victim or the shooter. Anyone with information is asked to contact the agency at 386-313-4911 and mention Case Number 2020-49516. You may also email [email protected] or send a tip through the FCSO app. To remain anonymous and receive a reward up to $5,000.00, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477).

The Geode says
Judging by the speed in which they are “investigating” the murder of Charles McClendon in that same area, it’s safe to say that “crime solving” isn’t a priority…

This is gang related, palm coast full of them. Probably some kind of gang test to be welcomed in.
