Hello, My name is Heather Doutrick. I am the proud “Teacher of the Year” from Rymfire Elementary School. I am a Florida native and have lived in the state my entire life. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. I have been teaching fourth grade for seven years. I spent two of those years in Volusia County, and now I proudly take my place at Rymfire Elementary, home of the Roadrunners! Along with teaching 44 students, I also coach three dance teams and am the faculty advisor for the K-Kids, which is a community service organization. I also am a mentor for teachers and help support new teachers with writing instruction strategies, along with being lead teacher for my grade level.
When I am not at school, I have a family at home. My husband and I have been married for nearly eight fabulous years, and we have two beautiful children. My husband and I became foster care parents seven years ago and have a wonderful son, Nathan, who is a sophomore at FPC, and our daughter, Brittny, who is a fifth grader at Rymfire. One of the best parts of being a teacher is knowing that each and every day brings new challenges and delight within children’s minds and hearts. I strive to make every experience challenging, rewarding, and safe for each student and to ensure that parents feel comfortable knowing that I am providing the best for their children.
