I am proud to say that I have been teaching for 11 years. I am a graduate of Dowling College in New York. It was there that I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and in Psychology. I then continued my education at Stony Brook University, also in New York, where I received my Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Elementary Education. I began my teaching profession in Long Island, N.Y., where I taught for two years before moving to Florida in 2001. My first year in Florida I resided in Tampa and taught in Hillsborough County. Within that year, I met my husband. We have been happily married for seven years now and have two beautiful children, Robbie, 5 years old and Tyler, who is 3. We moved to Flagler County in 2002 where I was very fortunate to become a part of the BTMS family.
I have called BTMS my home for eight years now and wouldn’t want to be any place else. I am fortunate to have been given the opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s lives. It is with great pride and dedication that I enter my classroom everyday knowing that I have chosen the right profession. I am truly honored to be nominated BTMS Teacher of the Year and I owe my success to my parents for their encouragement to always reach for the stars, to my husband for all his love and support and to Ms. Winnie Oden, who has motivated and inspired me, which has allowed me to grow into the teacher that I am today.
