“The Eden of the eternal present that the animal world has known for ages was shattered at last. Through the human mind, time and darkness, good and evil, would enter and possess the world.”

Note: all government meetings noticed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise indicated. Many can be heard or seen live through each agency’s website.

The Sheriff’s daily incident reports and jail bookings are posted here.

In court, Circuit Judge Terence Perkins, a former chief judge for the seventh judicial district, replaces Judge Dennis Craig on Flagler County’s felony and civil bench this week. For the second time since 2010, Craig has been reassigned to Volusia County, where he will handle the felony docket.

The Flagler County Commission meets in workshop at 9 a.m. The budget workshop discussion includes the administration’s defense of a proposed $284,000, four-year contract for a new tourism website. The administration tried to slip the proposal through the commission’s agenda last week. Commissioners did not comply and requested the workshop. At the Emergency Operations Center 1769 E. Moody Blvd., Bldg. 3, Training Room B, Bunnell. See the agenda here.

The Palm Coast City Council holds a workshop at 9 a.m. at City Hall in Town Center. Council members will hear presentations from executive search firms in the protracted search for a new manager. At a special meeting immediately following the workshop, council members will draw up a shortlist of candidates for the appointment to fill out Steve Nobile’s seat, which he just resigned. The list of applicants, however, is a shortlist. The council received just three qualifying applications: Charles Johnson, who worked at Sea Ray Boats for three decades, Vincent Lyon, the attorney at Palm Coast’s Chiumento Dwyer Hertel and Ksitemaker law firm, and Robert Thomasey, a retired electrician. See the applications here.

Flagler County’s Emergency Management has a media day scheduled for local reporters ahead of hurricane season, at 11:30 a.m. at the Emergency Operations Center in Bunnell.

The Bunnell City Commission meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 201 West Moody Boulevard, Bunnell. The meeting will be preceded by a 6 p.m. workshop, a continuation of the commission’s discussion of the city’s purchasing policy.

    1. Larry Phelan says

      May 29, 2018 at 7:19 am

Yesterday, a friend from St. Augustine called and wanted to go to a restaurant with an ocean view in Palm Coast. I had to give him directions to Flagler Beach. So much for tourism! And what about the beaches? Jungle Hut is a mess, and Varn Park is undergoing refurbishing! There arent any refreshment stands at either beach. I sometime wonder if the City Council knows there is a part of Palm Coast on the east side of 95??
