Peggi Hammack (Koch), 2011 Employee of the Year: Old Kings Elementary
FlaglerLive | January 13, 2011
My husband, Bruce, my son, Ryan, and I moved to Florida in 2003. While Ryan was enrolled in Old King’s Elementary, a paraprofessional position opened working with special needs kids. I applied (2006-07) and subsequently was hired for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade ESE class. After one year, I was transferred to Indian Trails (2007-08) to work in a new physically impaired classroom, immensely enjoying my job. The following year (2008 -09), I was transferred back to Old Kings and have been enjoying my position there since. I deeply appreciate the friendships and support I have received from the teachers, paraprofessionals, and especially the administration at each school. My job is great because I am constantly learning. I am humbled by the honor bestowed on me by being nominated for Employee of the Year by my school, and I hope I will have the opportunity to continue to strive to make a difference in the lives of children for many years.
