It was somewhat of a harrowing scene at 12:30 this afternoon on Palm Harbor Parkway by Marina Cove, where a man at the wheel of a truck lost control, struck a vehicle and crashed through a Marina Cove wall.
Three people, two vehicles and trailers were involved in the crash. None were injured thanks to the quick action of two bystanders.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is still conducting its investigation, but based on preliminary information, a driver at the wheel of a truck was towing a trailer that was carrying a Bobcat, driving down Palm Harbor. “It was traveling at a high rate of speed,” a sheriff’s spokesperson said. “It lost control, it actually crashed into a box truck, then crashed into a concrete wall at Marina Cove and caught on fire.”
The man at the wheel of the truck was entrapped.
The two people whose truck had been struck were not injured. Officials at first believed they’d been the ones to produce and use a fire extinguisher. In fact, it was two bystanders who did. They jumped in and got the fire under control, and were able to get the driver out.
“No one is injured, the driver that was entrapped had some cuts but no broken bones, nothing serious, he really lucked out,” the spokesperson said. “Deputies and the firefighters both believe they potentially saved this guy’s life, because he couldn’t get out of the truck.” The driver was taken to AdventHealth hopital with minor injuries.
Sheriff’s deputies and Sheriff Rick Staly himself were soon at the scene, as were the Palm Coast Fire Department, Flagler County Fire Rescue and the Palm Coast Fire Police.
Palm Harbor Parkway is closed between Club House Drive and Club Field Drive (which is also Riverview Bend South), though local traffic may be allowed through. “It’s probably going to be a while,” the spokesperson said. “I didn’t get an exact estimate but it’s a mess out there. I would estimate a couple of hours at least.”

Thank GOD that the men in the truck that was hit had a fire extinguisher and enough balls to jump out and save the other guys life, this is why there is an expression ” speed kills” and it aint just about drugs. I dont know why people think that palm harbor is a racetrack ,I saw a truck with a trailer make a hard , fast, left turn from palm harbor onto florida park dr , and guess what, they were going so fast that when they turned ,half of their equipment flew out onto the road, so not only did it take longer because they had to stop and pick up their stuff, some of it including a pressure washer ,got damaged . Please people ,slow down ,the life you save may be your own.

First of all glad no one killed or seriously injured… Sorry for the damage to cars and the Marina Cove wall. Now “he was driving at a high rate of speed” as per investigators and like I said speed kills. We have a problem with speeders in Palm Coast and Flagler specially this time of the year when crowds of snow birds visit us, more traffic around. We need speed humps in strategic places in our roads specially on residential roads…added to the proper amount of sheriff traffic units dedicated to fine all that violate traffic speeds and laws…is simply a matter of safety and prevent fatalities.
With multitudes of snowbirds in town the sales, gas, hospitality and restaurants, TDC (Tourism and Development Tax) revenues increase so then the county needs to pay our sheriff for more traffic units to serve cities and county wide. County only has 189 residents per square mile when one of its cities Palm Coast has 989 per square mile per the 2018 census and its residents pay county double in ad valorem taxes (our houses) of what pay the city that provides us with 70% of our services. So BOCC fork the 600,000 requested by sheriff for additional traffic units as after all are the tax payers funds. No more wasting in decrepit utilities or real estate.

Sad
CB from PC says
“High rate of speed”, of course.
See these asshole drivers hauling lawn equipment, construction equipment, etc. blasting all over PC all time.
The best are the trucks hauling cement or roof trusses doing 50 through PC neighborhoods where the posted speed limit is 30.
These were some very good bystanders to save this driver.
Hopefully, the driver appreciates this second chance. But he needs to have his license revoked for a year to “think” about his don’t give a shit decision to drive like an asshole, which could have injured or killed others.

I walk this area everyday and the speed is unacceptable. I hold my breath walking the bridge hoping no one hits the wall and showers me with concrete. Very surprised no one was killed. Thanks to the two people who risked there lives to save another. SLOW DOWN!!!

We were waiting on a furniture delivery from Badcock furniture and those two men stopped and saved the man trapped inside.
They apologized for being late and finished their route.
Real heroes!

That’s exactly the reason I do not pull all the way up to the corner to make a left …I go that way every day and every day and its like game to some of these drivers.

What kind of knuckle dragging idiot could manage a crash of this magnitude in a 35 MPH zone? This awful town and it’s awful inhabitants never cease to amaze. If it’s not obnoxious Yankees, it’s half wit roughnecks with no sense. I feel bad for anyone that moves to this area without a “heads up” as to what the locals are like. Rude, selfish, uppity transients… all of ‘em. This grown child have received a wreckless driving charge at minimum. Ridiculous.
