Note: all government meetings noticed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise indicated. Many can be heard or seen live through each agency’s website.
Flagler County Centennial Committee meets at 1:30 p.m. in the third-floor financial services conference room, Government Services Building, Bunnell.
The Flagler County School Board holds its final public hearing to set next year’s school property taxes, 5:15 p.m. at board chambers, Government Services Building.
The Flagler County School Board holds a workshop at 4:30 p.m. and a meeting at 6 p.m. in board chambers at the Government Services Building. At the 4:30 p.m. workshop, Palm Coast City Manager Jim Landon will give a presentation on the bathrooms the city will build at the Indian Trails Sports Complex, where the school board will be expected to assume the cost of utilities and water. The board will also consider a five-year work plan. At the 6 o’clock meeting, Flagler Auditorium Director Lisa McDevitt will speak about Arts in Education Week. The board will accept a donation from the now-defunct Ronald Reagan Republican Assemblies to the district’s ROTC program. The board will also discuss its legislative priorities for next year.
The Flagler Beach Planning and Architecture Review Board meets at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall to discuss rezoning two city-owned properties to residential prior to putting them on the market. Also on the agenda is a review of a proposed mixed use building on A1A at 5th street.
The Palm Coast City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall in Town Center. The council is expected to appoint Robert Cuff to the District 1 council seat. Cuff was decisively elected to the seat in last week’s primary. He would normally have to wait until November to be sworn in. But since council member Bill McGuire resigned that seat last month and the council is required to appoint a replacement, it will appoint Cuff, essentially moving up his swearing in by a few weeks (though he will be sworn in again, to his full four-year term, in November).
High School Sports: Flagler Palm Coast High School teams are in action much of the afternoon: The bowling team takes on Spruce Creek at 5:15 p.m. at Palm Coast Lanes, the swimming team meets Father Lopez’s team at the Belle Terre Swim and Racquet Club pool at 4 p.m., and the girls’ volleyball team meets Palm Bay at FPC at 5 p.m. Also, Matanzas’s girls volleyball team meets Menendez High School at Matanzas at 5:30 p.m.
