Daytona State College Fall Enrollment Set for Aug. 19

August 6, 2017 | FlaglerLive | Leave a Comment

Daytona State College enrollment at the Wetherell Center is scheduled for Aug. 19.
Daytona State College enrollment at the Wetherell Center is scheduled for Aug. 19.

New and returning students can sign up for classes, financial aid and other needs or benefits in one visit to Daytona State College on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Wetherell Center at the Daytona Beach Campus, 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd.

Students start by completing a Daytona State application (apply online or download the application from www.DaytonaState.edu), then meet with an Admissions Advisor and Financial Aid Counselor, take an assessment test (if applicable), meet with an Academic Adviser, and then lock in their schedule.

Fall classes begin Aug. 28. The last day to submit proof of Florida residency is Aug. 28 for Fall A Term.

The Daytona State Financial Aid Office will be open to assist with college education financing and to help students complete their financial aid application (FAFSA).

Daytona State offers programs that link to today’s jobs and careers in the region and the state. Featuring numerous certificates leading to two-year associate of science degrees, the Career Pathway Research Guide is designed to assist with finding the pathway that matches career interests and goals. Plus, associate of arts degree-seeking students have a special path to transfer upon graduation to the University of Central Florida through the nationally recognized DirectConnect to UCF program, as well as other universities and DSC’s 11 baccalaureate offerings.

Each pathway has an associated bachelor’s degree in industries such as business, education, engineering technology, information technology and healthcare; many using instructional methods that include in-class, online and a combination of both. Online is a huge success at DSC – Daytona State boasts five-years running among the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs in the nation, and three years among the Top-10 Best Online Bachelor’s for Veterans in the country.

Students unable to attend Enrollment Day can take advantage of DSC’s extended registration hours for summer and fall classes, Aug. 7 through Sept. 1:

Flagler/Palm Coast Campus – 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday
Daytona Beach Campus – 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday
DeLand Campus – 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday
Deltona Campus – 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday and Thursday
New Smyrna Beach-Edgewater Campus – 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday and Tuesday
Note: Fridays, the campuses are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
