A Palm Coast convenience store was again the target of an armed robbery, the third in two months, this time at the Shell gas station on Old Kings Road near Celico Way and the Staples shopping center.
The robbery, some of it captured on a surveillance video (see below) took place just before 3 a.m. today when a man wearing a zip-up hooded sweatshirt with the hood on and a bandanna across his face, entered the store, pointed a gun at the 29-year-old store clerk, and demanded that she “open the register” or he would kill her.
The clerk did so. The assailant then went behind the counter and himself removed the money, taking about $60. He then stole six packs of Black and Mild cigars (valued at about $16) and fled the store.
The man is described as black, 6 feet tall, brown eyes. The white sweatshirt had thick horizontal blue stripes. He wore black jeans rolled at the waist, with black shorts beneath the jeans, according to the surveillance footage, and shoes with a silver color emblem. A particular detail about the shoes was censored from the sheriff’s incident report, as was about half the report, a common practice when the case is still under investigation and certain details kept out of public knowledge may help with the investigation.
The gun was described as a black semi-automatic handgun of unknown make or caliber. The robber held the gun in his left hand. The clerk was not injured. Several sheriff’s units searched the surrounding areas but without success.
Less than two weeks ago the Kangaroo convenience store on Palm Harbor Parkway was the target of an armed robbery by two hooded men. In mid-June, an armed robber struck the Walgreens on palm Coast Parkway, demanding drugs, but was later caught.
If anyone has any information about this robbery or any crime in Flagler County, they are urged to immediately contact the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office at (386) 313-4911. Callers can also remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at (888) 277-8477 (TIPS). Callers are eligible to receive a reward of up to $1,000.

Keep it classy Palm Compton.
mom of a 14yr old says
I’m now wondering, since this has been happening a little more often shouldn’t the Sheriff’s office start having these 24 hour places under serveillance (meaning having a patrol officer there or at least parked in the area watching) at these hours knowing that normally only one person is working?
Jeannie says
Glad to see the crime rate has gone down.

Pointing a gun at a woman who’s working at an honest job; how low can you go?
I’m glad that she was unharmed. (physically anyway)
PC is one dangerous town!

People are ignorant. Put your life and others lives in jeopardy over $60 and black and milds. You could make over 60$ legally in a day doing even low end jobs. Come on people it’s not that bad out here…

This is happening every where that you reside. Unfortunately, people don’t have money and resorting to the wrong side of law. I hope that they get this assailant off the streets.

Born and Raised Here says
Once again only one Store Clerk on duty. That’s a crime in itself.
DaveT says
I agree with Born and Raised. One store clerk on duty in the early morning hours is just asking for trouble. “easy pickins ” as they say .

Crime actually is low in this county, Everyone here is just so spoiled they think this is alot of bad crime. Nice to see the you guys are finaly catching up with the rest of the world. Hopefully this will bring so many of the people out of the Palm Coast bubble.

I would have given him $60 for the gun…

Expanding small cities into larger one”s quickly is not always a great idea because it usually means more crime.Instead of a deputy “posted there” Have these stores close at midnite intstead of open 24 hours a day.Reopen at say 5a.m.People are lazy nowaday”s, what is not given to them they will rob and steal, anything but to get a job.

In response to Anonymous, it is true that crime will be present no matter where on chooses to reside. However, your assertion that “people don’t have money” can be true for even those who have much more money than they deserve. The problem in this country is that no one has the balls to address the growing lack of respect for law enforcement or the laws of this great nation. Society needs to stop using race as crutch to endorse and justify the behavior of the garbage that resides in our neighborhoods.

Lol at geode. I agree. Criminals are ignorant. A person can make so much more from a person from fixing there stuff over stealing there stuff. Smh…0
Hmmm says
Pretty pathetic. Everyone knows a gas station only keeps but so much in the register. $60 won’t even pay your water bill.

I bet they wish the Dunkin Donuts was still their nobody robs a place the cops hangout.
smarter way to do things says
One clerk, early hours, she is so lucky nothing else happened, this is a crime in itself I agree and what will she feel like now,,, the owners should consider being there themselves instead.
Kathryn says
As far as I’m aware it’s not even legal to have only one store clerk on duty overnight. I was pretty sure it had to be at LEAST two or the employer faces fines.
gmath55 says
I don’t know where you people figure there was one store clerk???? I deliver papers there and there is always two store clerks.

This is what happens when markets for real-estate collapse. We obtain the vermin that reside in neighboring municipalities to infect our neighborhoods. And everyone on this forum knows EXACTLY what I am referring to. The City of Palm Coast has become the breeding grounds for the filth of local communities (that is plural for all the bleeding heart Liberals).
