What about the East Flagler Mosquito Control Candidates.Give them a chance to speak.

  2. Brad West says:

It is nice to see organizations like the Chamber, the Realtors Association, and the HBA coming together to get involved in helping raise awareness for local politics. The KofC is also a great location for these events. Looking forward to it.

  3. Lonewolf says:

I’ve voted in many states and this is the 1st where neither candidates or party are listed alphabetically. Instead, the GOP is listed first….why is that?

[Lonewolf, we have Florida law to blame for that: it states explicitly that names on election ballots must be listed with the party in power first: that is, according to the reigning governor's party, and the next-major party second. Then, alphabetically, come independents and minor parties. It's a strange way of doing electoral business. But that's Florida for you.--FL]

  4. Will says:

The Constitutional amendments will be a challenge to voters this year. Voters need to study them before going to vote in order to avoid long lines if people try to read them for the first time.

Here’s a suggestion from the League of Women Voters of Florida: Vote NO on all of them.

  5. Truth Fairy says:

What a wonderful civic thing…..a public forum for lies, false promises, and “WHO YA GONNA TRUST THIS TIME” ……..reminds me of Ground Hog Day with Bill Murray playing the same day over and over into insanity.

  6. Magnolia says:

Will, here’s a suggestion from the Republican Party: Vote YES on all of them and get rid of the 3 state supreme court judges.

With two suggestions so far apart, take the time to do your own homework!

  7. Informed voter says:

Craig Atack for Flagler County Judge not shown up for the last two forums. Maybe it’s to far to travel since he doesn’t even live in Flagler! I hope Flagler County gets this right!

  8. Joe von Miller says:

How informed are you, Informed Voter? Craig Atack does indeed live in Flagler County. His mother is the current Flagler County judge. It appears as if you need to get more education.

  9. Informed voter says:

I know who is mother is and what does her being a judge here have anything to do with where he lives? Last I knew he lived in St. John’s County where he is currently a Public Defender. Does he belong to the Flagler County Bar Association? No.

[Note: Atack practiced law in St. Johns in accordance with common-sense rules laid out by the 7th Judicial Circuit--to avoid running into conflicts of interest in Flagler County, where his mother is the county judge. The insinuation that his work in St. Johns in any way equates to not being rooted in Flagler County is grossly inaccurate. His home address, in that context, is irrelevant. Please refrain from attempts to smear candidates, especially in the judicial race, by innuendo. Thanks.--FL]

  10. Will says:

Magnolia – Voting to oust the 3 sitting FL court justices is a political vendetta, in my opinion, which interferes with judicial independence which is designed into both the Florida and US Constitutions. Plenty to read elsewhere. Neither political party should be part of an attempt to oust a sitting justice – unless there’s a crime committed in office.

Joe von Miller – Sorry, but Craig Atack does not live in Flagler County, although his well respected mother does.

  11. Informed voter says:

I apologize by no means was I trying to smear any candidate. Jon Von Miller stated that I didn’t “do my homework” which is not true. There are many State Attorneys aka prosecutors who live in Volusia and have a parent who is a Judge in Volusia . I was simply stating that Judical candidate Atack does not live in this county. His roots may very well be here but that does not mean he is the most qualified for the position. Secondly, as he had spoke that he is a Felony Public Defender his mother is in Misdemeanor court. Article in News Journal dated January 2012 Atack states he loves in St. Augustine Beach.
