Power lines, tree limbs and trees are falling, reports of brush fires are popping, and all Flagler County volunteer firefighters have been summoned to their stations to help with manpower as Flagler, Palm Coast, Bunnell and Flagler Beach brace for what could be 30 minutes of very severe weather.

The National Weather Service issued a significant weather advisory for the county and , along with southeastern Putnam and northeastern Marion, in effect until 7 p.m.

The relatively large storm cell packing strong thunderstorms was extending 9 miles south og Bunnell to 6 miles south of Georgetown, and moving north at 10 mph. Hail up to three quarter inches in diameter, excessive cloud-to-ground lightning and winds gusting to 45 to 55 mph are expected.

A brushfire reported on Woodhaven Drive in Palm Coast turned out to be a false alarm. A tree had fallen on State Road 11, some 3 miles south of Bunnell, but has been removed. A powerline was reported down, or struck by a tree, at 31 Porcupine Drive, at 6:50 p.m. A powerline issue was also reported at 16 Kathleen Trail. A road obstruction was reported at West State Road 100 at Andalusia around the same time.

Florida Power and Light meanwhile was reporting only minor power outages as of 6:50, including a few customers in two separate sections of Palm Coast’s R-Section, and more numerous customers had lost power in southwest Palm Coast, near U.S. 1.
