With the primary and general elections nearing, Publix Super Markets has made more than $300,000 in state political contributions this month, according to newly filed finance reports.
Publix contributed at least $306,000 from Aug. 1 to Aug. 12, the latest information posted on the state Division of Elections website. Of that amount, $250,000 went to Florida Chamber of Commerce political committees, while another $50,000 went to “Florida Grown,” a committee closely tied to Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam.
Publix also made $1,000 contributions this month to six state House candidates: Ormond Beach Republican Tom Leek, who is running in House District 25; Rep. Jennifer Sullivan, a Mount Dora Republican running in House District 31; Tampa Republican Rebecca Smith, who is running in House District 60; Tampa Democrat Dianne Hart, who is running in House District 61; St. Petersburg Democrat Ben Diamond, who is running in House District 68; and Sarasota Republican Alex Miller, who is running in House District 72.

I now have a new grocer and it’s PUBLIX! I spend $800+ each month on groceries and extras. It’s my pleasure to spend my money at Publix! They represent conservative values. I am HAPPY to be onboard! Hope many others will join me!

@An eggcellent (sic) report – but
Doesn’t begin to cover the topic, e.g.:
https://www.tampabay.com/florida-politics/buzz/2019/10/13/wilton-simpson-the-donald-trump-of-egg-farmers-set-to-take-control-of-florida-senate/
Farming, forestry, ranching, mining – the Republican party of Florida is a hobby of white land barons who own a good deal of the state and its people (a.k.a. wage slaves) and intend to keep it that way; What they don’t own is owned and operated by the rest of the usual suspects.
FWIW, I love Publix and shop there 90% of the time. Also, in case one doesn’t know – there is this, “…Publix is the largest employee-owned company in the world, and not just by a small margin…”:

IF you read the above referenced link there is plenty about Publix to find fault with. Nothing is perfect.
And so it goes.
