North Carolina Man Wanted for Attempted Murder Is Arrested in Palm Coast’s Walmart Parking Lot

On January 23, the police department in Dunn, N.C., a small city south of Raleigh, along the I-95 corridor, issued an alert on its Facebook page. It was looking for a fugitive, Glenn Allen Stewart, who was wanted “for Attempted First Degree Murder, ADWIKISI (which stands for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury) and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle.”

Stewart had been arrested by the Dunn police on other felony charges, including possession of a firearm by a felon in December 2013, but had somehow been released. It’s not clear why.

This morning (March 20), Stewart was arrested by a Flagler County Sheriff’s deputy in the Walmart parking lot in Palm Coast, after Stewart tried to pass himself off as someone else. A traffic stop led to Stewart’s arrest.

Deputies saw Stewart driving a black Chevrolet Tahoe slowly through the parking lot between 6 and 7 a.m. The tag had been revoked for lack of insurance. But it was also red-flagged.

“Dispatchers quickly alerted the deputy that the vehicle was involved in a violent crime in Dunn,” a sheriff’s news release states, “and that it may be occupied by Glen Allen Stewart who was wanted for attempted murder and may be armed and dangerous.”

At first Stewart identified himself as Alfonso Bristow Jr., who happens to be an individual of around Stewart’s age (Stewart is 24) in the Raleigh area. The deputy arrested Stewart for providing a false identity.

While conducting an inventory of Stewart’s vehicle, another deputy discovered seven rounds of 9 mm ammunition in the front passenger seat’s rear pocket, a black ski mask, and gloves in the front driver seat’s rear pocket. Deputies also found an envelope containing $2,500 cash, and a wallet with $105 in the glove compartment.

By then Stewart’s fugitive status had been established. A tattoo on Stewart’s hand gave it away. The tattoo read: “Born to die.”

Stewart told the deputies that the cash was his, and that he wanted it, according to his arrest report. Saxon’s wrecker impounded the vehicle and Stewart was taken to the Flagler County jail.

Stewart faces a fugitive from justice charge, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, resisting arrest, as well as the previous charges from Dunn. He is being held without bond.

Good job FCSO. This is the kind of thug that is the real reason we have a problem with violent pit bulls, dogfighting, gang violence, and drug dealing. Another criminal with no morals or regard for others off the streets.

No stereotypes, just factfinding. I looked into this guy and gang activity and violent crime are part of who he is. Anymore false prejudice claims you want to make?
