It’s time to celebrate the success and continuation of the French Market in Downtown Daytona Beach with these three Fall dates: Oct. 29, Nov. 19 and Dec. 3, 2011.
“French Market has been so successful for the Downtown merchants and restaurants, we are looking to make it a permanent community event in the Fall each year,” Director Stacey Lipton says.
Come stroll along Beach Street from Bay Street down to Orange Avenue and International Speedway Blvd. and see vendors offering fine arts and crafts, including pottery, jewelry, paintings, baked goods, glass, wood and much more. Artists, hobbyists, and new home businesses will be setting up a table strategically placed in front of unused storefronts among beautiful Beach Street businesses showcasing their wares.
Dates and times for the Fall French Markets are on the following Saturdays: October 29, November 19 and December 3, 2011 from 9 a.m.– 3 p.m. each day. Other Downtown activities will also be taking place during the French Market, including the very popular Farmer’s market, music, food and dance.
Additional themed festival activities will be taking place in Riverfront Park. The Oct. 29 French Market will partner with the Echo Group and Farmer’s Market to bring Green products and organic treats for the kids. The Daytona Beach Honor Guard will present an antique and classic car show during the 2nd French Market Nov. 19th to raise money for the National Law Enforcement memorial fund. And, last but not least, there will be a Holiday Festival in the park (complete with Santa) Dec. 3 that will be hosted by the City of Daytona Beach. All French Market activities and parking are FREE to the public.
At the French Market, you can find several restaurants at which you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, a glass of wine or latte. Nosh on some fresh seafood, Thai cuisine, sushi, pizza and homemade chocolate. You can also grab a specialty cocktail at the nearby restaurants and pubs in this historic market.

If you’ve always wanted to start a small business and haven’t been able to afford it, then this is the place for you. The cost for a vendor space at the French Market ranges from $30 – $45, based on location, size and tent.
“The future goal for 2012 is to make the French Market a non-profit organization,” Lipton said. “In doing so, a Board of Directors would be established to oversee the operation of the French Market. Tax-deductible sponsorships would be encouraged to help with the expenses of putting on these events. This would enable us to market and advertise French Market on a larger scale which would bring more people to the Downtown area. Right now, French Market relies on the vendor fees collected and the funding from the Downtown Redevelopment Board.”
