Florida Hospital Flagler and a few children from the local Flagler Child Development Center in Bunnell celebrated Christmas a little early today (Dec. 16).
The children came to the hospital to pick up presents that Santa’s helpers had dropped off for them. The presents were brought back to the Center for all of the children to open.
In November, the Florida Hospital Flagler Volunteer Auxiliary put a Christmas tree in the hospital and decorated it with more than 100 names of local children enrolled in the Flagler Child Development Center. The Florida Hospital Flagler employees and volunteers then selected the names off the tree and purchased gifts for the children.
“This is a wonderful tradition we started in 2001,” said Denise Thomson, executive assistant and volunteer coordinator. “We have been so moved by the support of the hospital employees and volunteers. I know their kindness really touches the hearts of these children and their families.”
