Felecia Phillips was upset this morning (Sept. 19). But she took her anger out on a 17-year-old student at a bus stop, according to a Flagler County Sheriff’s report, then chased the boy onto the bus and allegedly continued assaulting him there. She ended up at the Flagler County jail facing child abuse and trespassing charges.

Phillips, 35, of 60 Knox Jones Road in Espanola, was upset over a fight her son and his friend were apparently involved in the previous day, with another boy, who was at the bus stop at County Road 13 and Railroad Street this morning. The boys go to Flagler Palm Coast High School.

At 7 this morning, according to her arrest report, Phillips started an argument with the boy. “Phillips then with her right hand pushed [the boy] in the face,” the report states, and another teen slammed the boy to the ground. When the bus arrived, the victim got on the bus. Phillips, according to the report, chased him onto the bus “where she began to start another physical altercation,” allegedly grabbing the boy by the hair.

Others on the bus “were pulling [the boy] back,” according to the report, “and the bus driver shouted to F. Phillips that she was trespassing and needed to get off.” Phillips then walked off the bus.

Deputies arrested her around 10 a.m. She posted $2,000 bond and was released later in the day.

Late Wednesday afternoon, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office released the following 15-second clip of the fight, videotaped through the cameras installed on all Flagler County school buses:

Nice example she set for her child.

  2. blondee says:

Nice goin’ mom!! Child abuse is a felony.

    • Kay Thorne says:

Tell it to the bully. What he is doing is abuse. Ms. Phillips is guilty only of defending her child. Good on her.

FPC: Seriously, your are right. That bully’s parents have obviously failed miserably at teaching their child to be a good citizen. Thank God for people like Ms. Phillips who are willing to pick up the slack! Go Felecia!

blondee: blondee, what do you call the treatment from the bully to the victim? I applaud Ms. Phillips for giving that bully a taste of his own medicine. It’s the only thing a goon like him understands. She should be commended not arrested.

  3. Yellowstone says:

I wonder if mandatory school uniforms will correct this bad student behavior?

  4. FPC says:

Some people are just horrible at setting good examples for children.

Let’s not start about the uniforms, they are a joke. Just another one of the district’s stupid ideas that has an effect on everyone. Which by the way, I see the students already are slipping away from following the policy. It will be a matter of time before everyone shows up in t-shirts and shorts. I am waiting for the whole thing to blow up in the district faces.

    • stop projecting says:

what the heck does the dress code have to do with it…”has an effect on everyone?” what are you mad cause your son can’t wear his pants down BELOW his ass..cause that looks good…or your daughter in 5″ heels and her chest out.. get over the dress code..teach your kid the importance of looking respectable so he/she can be taken seriously!

  5. johnny taxpayer says:

It looks like the lady probably took things too far, and I certainly won’t condone that. However, it also appears that this mother is actually involved in her child’s life, that’s a good thing in this day and age where it appears so many parents are not.

    • Rain says:

I think this Mother could be involved in her child’s life without physically attacking another child and being arrested don’t you?

  6. Deep South says:

This woman was a child when she had this boy. She seems to still act like a child. Obviously this woman never took on the responsibility to become an adult and a parent.

  7. Hank Brantford says:

If I see your kid being disrespectful towards my child or others I would beat their ass too since you aren’t MAN or WOMAN enough to raise a decent person, someone else will have to help you out.

I wish I was there I would have helped whoop that kids ass. And I would do it again tomorrow, and the next day until their weak parents who are AFRAID to discipline their children decide they want to own the little menaces they have raised AND THEIR ACTIONS TOWARD OTHERS.

Take responsibility for your children being decent and respctful toward others and this never happens. Parents who have to watch their children suffer because of others should not tolerate it.

  8. "My Daily Rant" says:

johnnie taxpayer. The story says her son AND his friend had gotten into a fight with this kid earlier. And because those two Punks probly lost she figured she would get even. Her kiid should no longer be allowed to use the bus service.

  9. rthomp11 says:

Personally, I like the uniform. Have you seen some the things some of those kids are wearing these days? I mean come on! They are going to school to learn not to see who can dress the sluttiest. And where were the parents when they were buying those close? So I for one LOVE the new uniform or dress code or what ever you want to call it.

As for this mother, she did the right thing sticking up for her son. She just went about it the wrong way. However, I was bullied as a child and I can tell you the only way to get it to stop is to stand up to the bully. As much as we want to always protect out children, we can’t be with them all the time. We have to teach them to be strong and to stand up for themselves. To do what is right. It’s the only way they will become the adults they need to be to succeed in life. Let’s face it, life is hard enough with the economy the way it is, the politicians fighting over everything and helping no one but themselves. Our kids need all the help they can get. So they need a good head on the shoulders and it all starts with us and in middle school and high school.

    Just my opinion.

  10. Reinhold Schlieper says:

What’s the background? How egregious was the original altercation? Nothing ever exists in a vacuum, does it? Which parent does not become protective of his/her child? Good point, Mr. Taxpayer.

  11. Anonymous says:

That’s my brother and what people fail to realize about this lady is she loves starting stuff with kids then when an adult gets involved she doesn’t want to handle things the appropriate way… I can name 3 other people that has had it out with her that are children and I was one of them when I was a teen she came to the bus stop with the intentions of fighting someone

  12. blondee says:

Whatever works for you Hank. However, Ms. Phillips made the same remark in a TV interview that she would do it again too. Yeah, that’s just what the judge wants to hear when he invokes sentencing!

Not only doesn’t she think before she acts, apparently doesn’t think before she speaks either.

  13. King Ratner says:

Good On Ya! Felicia Phillips! Now if the bullies parents would follow up with a good whipping on the bully, perhaps they will save the kids life! There is no doubt that this bully will die young. Actually I’ll put money on it! Follow this 17 year old for 5 years, he will be dead in four because he picked on the wrong mate!

  14. Liana G says:

Not entirely off topic, but I’m always confused as to why black rappers (I’ve listened to a few on YouTube, with lyrics – otherwise I would have no idea what they were saying) would rap about their strong love and compassion for their moms, yet, in the same breath, “dis” other women and treat them like toilet paper to be used, abused, and discarded. This incident helps a little in helping me get the picture of the relationship dynamics. I see a strong, protective mother because she can and chooses to be. But she is at the mercy of those she is unable to walk away from, like so many women in the black community where the female to male ratio is around 7:1 for men on the outside (see

There were times when I dearly wish I could paddle the behinds of some kids. But this was no paddling, and definitely not within her right. I wonder if she filed a complaint with the school district before.

@ Liana G: Why does ANYBODY do anything to anyone PERIOD? Why do Pornagraphic Producers make movies with woman being degraded? Why do Hollywood movie Producers make Demonic and violent movies? Why do Rock Stars have groupies? Why does Death Metal do so well in the music industry? Why is Lady Ga Ga’s perfume FAME a number one seller even the premise behind it’s make up is blood and semen? Don’t blame a sorry rapper for a backwards society.
