A white man in his forties was found dead this morning with a bullet to the head and a gun next to him, at the Indian Trails Sports Complex on Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office late Friday identified the man as Jeffrey Biermann, 41, of Palm Coast.

The discovery was made at 7:26 a.m. when a worker went to the southern part of the complex to retrieve equipment and saw the victim there. Workers have been laying out new playing fields as part of an expansion of the complex’s sports facilities. The new playing fields are adjacent to Indian Trails Middle School. The body was found at the opposite end of the complex, near the older playing fields.

A zip tie was reportedly tied around the victim’s neck. Sheriff’s deputies, fire rescue and fire police were called to the scene and the park immediately closed.

The sheriff’s office is calling it an “apparent suicide.” The medical examiner arrived at the scene in mid-morning.

The identity of the victim had not been determined this morning, and the individual apparently was not carrying any identification.

There needs to be more security there. This is the 2nd incident with a gun there. Didn’t a kid bring a gun next to the school there just a few months ago?

What, metal detectors and pat-downs at the entrance??? I am sorry for this man’s family and friends.

You paying for it? The city doesn’t even close the gates at night anymore… The city is more worried about landscaping the medians on Belle Terre Parkway in the area of Whiteview. They say they want to cut cost and save money by close a fire station…. They should just stop the landscaping projects, it a waste of money now…

Exactly like the branded “murder suicide” of the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce past President Kevin Henderson, his wife Belinda and their 12 years old daughter Cori, adored by his father Kevin Henderson.
They were found in their high end Hammock Beach Club condo strangled each with a plastic bag tight around their necks? Sheriff was to come up with the toxicology test that will take very looong time and guess what…results were never published.
I knew this family well and the reason alleged for the murder suicide to me are bogus as they both had properties and financial security in spite of the downturn of the markets after 2001.
I knew Kevin and Belinda enough to be sure that Kevin adored that child of theirs and will never hurt his daughter. Their inseparable pet dog was never mentioned by the sheriff and sure was found alive in the apartment and just a day or two before that, Kevin himself took it to their regular grooming place not showing any signs of distress or anything unusual from his normal character, as I was told. Kevin Henderson was the best cordial and business friendly President that the Flagler Chamber of Commerce ever had. The only one that really ever cared to help the local small business. His wife provided for many years the “Free Bus Ride to the Broadway Shows” for our elderly in need of transport to the Flagler Auditorium and she was also the Auditorium Governing Board President at a given time. She was also a member that donated and helped in fundraising events to the Boys and Girls of Flagler Volusia and other community organizations.
A family of this quality do not commit suicide… much less with a bag over one’s head…
I am more inclined to believe that were murdered by a very high end influential disgruntled investor and big enough to engineer a sloppy hard to believe cover up
