Flagler County Fire Flight, the county’s emergency helicopter, was diverted this morning from fighting a small brush fire to assist sheriff’s deputies in Palm Coast’s P-Section, following a burglary.
The burglary was reported on Ponderosa Lane. Fire Flight was circling the P Section after 9:30 a.m., helping in the search for a suspect who fled the scene, according to a sheriff’s spokesman. The fire was at Grand Landings.
No one was hurt in the burglary, reportedly at at 28 Ponderosa Lane. K-9 units are also at the scene, as are numerous sheriff’s deputies on the ground. The perimeter extends to Ponce de Leon drive, where traffic may be impeded in sections.
A little after noon, the sheriff’s office released this description of the suspect: black male, 5’10’’ to 5’11’’, wearing dark clothes. Medium stocky build with a buzz haircut.
Little else is known at the moment.

A little Common Sense please says
When the burglar is found I hope they dump a one of the helicopter’s big buckets of water on him.

I really do not think using fire suppression/fire service as cops is a good idea. Just because a bad idea gets away with it without a hitch does not magically make it a good idea. Apologies. Fly safe. Small arms fire can ruin your day in the air.
