the previous story is below.
May 12–The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating 31-year-old John Raymond Lugo Jr., a resident of 1 Wellham Lane B in Palm Coast, who went missing the evening of Thursday, May 7, after telling his wife that he was going to get dinner.
He never came home that evening. His wife Jeanette Lugo, 27, said she did not immediately report him missing because he has done “things like this” in the past, and because she did not believe he would be gone for so long, according to an incident report.
Lugo may be driving a blue 2002 Dodge Durango bearing Florida tag DQSZ67, VIN 1B4HR48N02F138862. The rear window of the vehicle has a decal of “Olaf” from the Disney movie “Frozen” and the quote, “Do you want to build a snowman?” In addition, the vehicle possibly has a trailer attached with lawn equipment inside. The vehicle is registered to John. According to his wife, Lugo left the house without a suitcase. He was wearing a striped polo shirt and a pair of jeans, and may have been heading for Jacksonville.
Lugo is a white male, 5’10” tall, weighs 200 pounds.
Jeanette told police that she has been in contact with her husband’s family, but no one has seen him or heard from him in days. She herself did not hear anything else back from husband despite texting and calling him repeatedly. Since going missing, Lugo has missed three separate landscaping jobs over the weekend.
Surrounding counties and Duval County were informed of the missing status. John Lugo is in the third year of a three-year probation term for battery by strangulation and obstructing an officer, to which he pleaded guilty in 2012. A condition of his probation is that he must have no contact with alcohol or drugs. Probation also includes regular reporting requirements. Jeanette Lugo petitioned for divorce three years ago, but the case was eventually dismissed.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of John Lugo is asked to call the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office at 386-313-4911 in reference to case number 2015-48933.

Hope he is found, safe and sound, and, once located, he is made to report immediately to his Probation Officer and fulfill any other requirements and conditions of his probation–which I hope will include a professional drug/alcohol/psychiatric evaluation.

Jeanette – no sign of him or not heard from him yet? He seemed his usual self while here on Thursday and even talked about getting up early Sunday morning to come and do the “ugly” tree. . . and then bring you back breakfast for Mother’s day. . . He also made a dirt pile from what he dug up, to return and get for a friend’s of his bulk head that needs dirt, it is still here. . .

He was here that afternoon did a great job on our lawn. Very nice and hard working guy!
We are praying for John and his family!

He should be forced to pay for whatever resources were spent in an attempt to locate him.

He is an adult and is free to go where he wishes.

Why should he be forced to pay? And for what? He didn’t commit any infraction of the law, nor did he file a false report. In fact, based on the information in this article, he didn’t file any report.

You say you’re going to get dinner and never come back leaving your wife and kids…Yes we are free to go where and when we choose but common sense should tell you that if you disappear for a few days and also don’t show up for work during that time, the wife and kids wil be worried. And she may have called the police but what else should she have done? The father of her kids never returned. If you’re OK with that then we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

I’m so sorry Jenette…

Did he inform his probation officer he was moving out of the county and switching addresses before he did it? Don’t think so, otherwise they wouldn’t have to go searching for him. Some of our fellow men in this county act like two year-olds.

What about the people he let down, his kids, his wife? The people who hired him to work on their yards? I am outraged at the unreliability and incompetence of people. If you tell someone you will do a job, then have the decency to show up or at least call and say you can no longer work for them. As to the kids shame on him for letting them worry their daddy was hurt or worse dead in a ditch. Be a dad at the very least, the kids did not sign on for your baggage! Way to teach the next generation to be responsible dad!
