Musicians of all skill levels are welcome to bring their acoustic instruments and join the jam. Whether you’re strumming, picking, singing, or just soaking in the sounds, come be part of the magic at the Gamble Jam pavilion! The program is free with park admission! Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach, 3100 S. Oceanshore Blvd., Flagler Beach, FL. Call the Ranger Station at (386) 517-2086 for more information.  The park hosts this acoustic jam session at one of the pavilions along the river to honor the memory of James Gamble Rogers IV, the Florida folk musician who lost his life in 1991 while trying to rescue a swimmer in the rough surf.

Yasmina Reza’s “God of Carnage” at Limelight Theatre, 11 Old Mission Avenue, St. Augustine. 7:30 p.m. except on Sundays at 2 p.m. Book here. What begins as polite conversation quickly unravels into escalating insults, exposed hypocrisies, and childish behavior. The dark comedy, God of Carnage, satirizes modern civility, exposing how thin the veneer of social decorum truly is when pride and principle collide.

“Steel Magnolias” at Athens Theatre, 7:30 p.m. except Sunday, 2:30 p.m., 124 North Florida Avenue, DeLand, (386) 736-1500. Cost: Adult $37, Senior $33, Student/Child $17, groups of 8 or more $30 per ticket, all including processing charge. Book here. Truvy’s beauty salon is where life happens. It’s where women gather to laugh, cry, share stories, and carry one another through everything life throws their way. Steel Magnolias is a funny, deeply moving story about friendship—the kind that’s loud, loyal, and shows up when it counts. It’s about finding strength in the people who know you best, and love you anyway. This heartfelt comedy-drama is as sweet and soulful as Southern tea—and proves that “laughter through tears” just might be the finest emotion of all.

Grace Community Food Pantry, 245 Education Way, Bunnell, drive-thru open today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The food pantry is organized by Pastor Charles Silano and Grace Community Food Pantry, a Disaster Relief Agency in Flagler County. Feeding Northeast Florida helps local children and families, seniors and active and retired military members who struggle to put food on the table. Working with local grocery stores, manufacturers, and farms we rescue high-quality food that would normally be wasted and transform it into meals for those in need. The Flagler County School District provides space for much of the food pantry storage and operations. Call 386-586-2653 to help, volunteer or donate.

Free Tax Preparation Services in Flagler County: The AARP Foundation’s Tax Aide provides free tax preparation services at six locations in Palm Coast, Flagler Beach and Flagler County through April 15, but you must make an appointment first and fill out paperwork. To do both, go here.

Notably: On Thursday Rick Belhumeur was “de-commissioned” again, as he likes to describe his second departure from the Flagler Beach City Commission. We were having a cigar and a beer after his loss the other day when he shared this picture below, with other decommissioned ones: the late Charlie Ericksen, who’d served two terms on the County Commission before brain bleeds and the early ravages of dementia began to take a toll and took his life at the end of July 2023, after his family had exiled him to an Orlando suburb so he could be closer to them. And to the right, Nate McLaughlin, who had his own health difficulties after his commission days, but is still around, if not as visible as he used to be. Public office takes a toll. Rick has an eye for photography: his pictures, including many news shots, have appeared in these pages over the years, usually under FlaglerLive’s copyright. Now that he’s off the commission, we can start giving him full credit.

You enter a different time when you step into a cemetery. That mix of finality with our attempts at eternity faintly amuses, seeing how the older the place, the clearer it is that finality wins. I smiled at the toppled marker that boasted how the beloved buried there would never be forgotten.

You cant stand all his success, you proove daily your brains are smaller than that golf ball! By the way, TRUMP never once looked at his watch, like Biden did, you JACKASSES have so little to be proud of these days. The American people see through the lies cover ups of the Democratic party. TRUMP will go down in history as being one of the greatest American presidents.

Dennis C Rathsam is the only one that is being kidded, or more correctly, DELUDED, by his own fantastical fairy tales about his pedo daddy, whom he worships above all else in the whole wide world. Kissy, kissy on those bulbous ass cheeks of that fat old gassy geezer. That’s our ne’er-do-well neighbor, Dennis.

He wore his own merch. Fox Entertainment showed him saluting from a year ago, without his merchandise hat, but changed it back, and apologized when caught. They still try to cover for him. So many lies.

No, I got more, Dennis. He called them “suckers and losers.” He also stated “I don’t get it. What’s in it for them?” while standing in a veteran cemetery.

The despicable despot in the WH took a little time away from his round of golf to “welcome home” a few of the dead military personnel HE is responsible for killing in his “EPIC FURY” war of choice. But I really have to wonder if he did in fact raise his arm in a salute to the fallen as their flag draped coffins were solemnly carried from the plane… or if he was just raising his arm up hight while surreptitiously checking his wrist watch because he was bored and whatever was happening there on the tarmac was taking way too long, keeping him from much more important responsibilities back at the golf course?

Popular Mechanics devoted a story to platinum group metals (PGMs), metals that are oxidation-resistant, metals that are used to catalyze or synthesize chemicals. PGMs include palladium and platinum. PGMs are expensive to produce, environmentally costly, and they are becoming increasingly rare, being now found mainly in South Africa.

In the reporter’s research for the story, “[t]ransition metals are the workhorses of chemical synthesis and catalysis.”

Researchers at King’s College London and Trinity College Dublin searched for an alternative metal to the expensive and rare PGM transition metals. They focused on aluminum, because it is abundant and inexpensive, being some 20,000 times less expensive in cost to produce than palladium and platinum. The research team developed a triangular three-aluminum-atom, a “trimeric” shaped structure, that they named “cyclotrialumane.” The novel metal structure offers both “strong reactivity” and it “holds up when dissolved in different solutions.”

One of the researchers explained the potential that cyclotrialumane offers:

“We can use this aluminum trimer to build completely new compounds with levels of reactivity that have never been observed before. … These capabilities go beyond the transition metals we were originally trying to mimic, to the forefront of chemical research.”

Make of this what you will.

Contrary to this absurd cartoon deception, President Trump was there in a suit with the VP, their wives and others and did not keep glancing at his watch like Biden did. There was no golf club. Trump woks a lot harder than the vegetable, vacation, beach president Biden.

“Trump’s pace of early travel largely mirrors Biden’s, but with more sports events and golf,” AP reported in July.
