The Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra (JSYO) hosts the Tallahassee Youth Orchestras (TYO) for a weekend of music and activities, culminating with a free concert open to the public on Sunday, June 17, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Jacoby Symphony Hall, Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts. A combined Festival Orchestra of 120 young musicians will fill the stage for an inspiring concert showcase.
The advanced ensembles of the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Tallahassee Youth Orchestras come together for the first Florida Youth Orchestra Festival in Jacksonville. They’ll share a weekend of music, master classes, fun and camaraderie as they rehearse to present a combined Festival Concert for the community. Admission is free and open to the public.
Both youth orchestra programs will be sending their top ensembles to join forces in a program that features performances by each orchestra individually as well as a presentation by a combined 120 young musicians of the Tallahassee and Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestras under the direction of Maestros Alexander Jiménez and Scott Gregg.
