Three Palm Coast boys — two of them 17, one 16 — allegedly spent the night between Saturday and Sunday burglarizing 10 cars in the P and Z sections of Palm Coast, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said today.
The three were arrested at 6 a.m. Sunday when they were located in the parking lot of Petsmart on State Road 100. Deputies were responding to a report of suspicious people in the area. While questioning the three, deputies said all admitted to breaking into vehicles.
Deputies had retrieved about $2,000 worth of stolen property, recovering several GPS devices, a camera, cell phone chargers and miscellaneous music CDs. The incidents are still under investigation.
The three boys are charged with the following felonies: grand theft, burglary of a conveyance, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
The three teenagers arrested and charged were: Valeriy Deyak, 17, 60 Piedmont Drive, Palm Coast; Jake Bock, 17, 42 Pine Haven Drive, Palm Coast, and a third boy, 16, of Raleigh Drive in Palm Coast. Bock was additionally charged with bringing marijuana into the Flagler County jail. All three were released to relatives at the direction of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
“These boys should have been at home, not wandering the neighborhoods and stealing from their neighbors. Parents and guardians need to step up to the plate and be responsible for their teenagers,” said Flagler County Sheriff Don Fleming.
The sheriff also reminded Flagler County residents that they can avoid becoming victims of theft with little effort. They can remove valuables from their vehicles–and keep their vehicles locked. A surprisingly large proportion of larcenies and burglaries take place on properties left unlocked–homes, cars or garages.

There was a time here in Palm Coast that you could leave you car and home unlocked and not worry. Those days are gone which unfortnately I had to learn the hard way 18 months ago when our vehicles were broken into. I just don’t understand though where these kids get off thinking they can get away with something like this. If it’s not yours DON’T TOUCH IT!!

I think the punishment should include restitution for the damage, and some public service, like picking trash up along the areas, around the High Schools, to demonstrate to others, that activity like this is unacceptable.

Life in prison is advisable for these three as they will only go on to rob and eventually kill someone as they “mature”. Why they were released and not jailed on high bond is another crime.

You are absolutely tight elaine….it is becoming the “Norm” and it in not acceptable. We need a curfew put in place and start making an example of these criminals!!

I’m sure the arents home sleeping at 6 AM , one of the main problems with todays kid’s is the law says you can not whip them and as you just seem they were released soon after being busted, go figure! I so agree with a curfew, Palm Coast is getting real bad and nothing is being done to resolve it.
