Palm Coast is planning road resurfacing on Old Kings Road South from Utility Drive to Town Center Blvd. starting Tuesday, May 24, and through the rest of the week.
Workers will be resurfacing both lanes of the road. The road will remain open during the resurfacing, with flaggers on-site.
The Palm Coast City Council in June 2015 approved resurfacing the 4.2 mile stretch as part of a $1.2 million plan to resurface more than 30 streets. At the time, it appeared that the city would get around to Old Kings Road this fall. But the city was striving to move up the project if possible, as the road is among the most in need of resurfacing in the city. That stretch will cost $200,000.
Drivers in the area should anticipate changing traffic patterns and periodic lane closures. Travelers should be aware of heavy equipment and stay within the limits of the traffic control devices. Workers on the ground appreciate the cooperation and patience of residents as the road repair proceeds.

Maybe they will finally correct the sign at that intersecton which says Old Kings DRIVE.

About darn time. And maybe put a traffic light at Town Center Blvd and Old Kings Rd before someone is killed.
HonkeyDude says
No more lights! There is already to many lights as it is in this town
Ken Dodge says
How about one of those roundy-bouts?
shark says
What about the rest of the town ??????????????????
gladfly says
How about a new red light camera somewhere? (a little humor.) This road will jar your eyeballs out so good deal.
Decades in Flagler Beach says
Hallelujah, I hope that they’re milling the surface first to get it flat. That road has been like driving on a washboard(for those of you that know what that is!) since the 80’s.

I hope they do something for the bicyclist, like put in bike lanes. Also we need a crosswalk at Town Center and Old Kings Road.
