I’m glad Flagler Live is posting notes of the meeting live. I wish it had been streamed or on the tv.
The thoughts about it I have so far is that if there is no operating plan that everyone agrees with, how can the county, etc. possible work out the next phase? I also don’t see the possibility of all the cities/towns in FC totally agreeing on a binding plan of action. There are to many who have agendas of their own, egos, and power plays for that to happen. However, reading about this meeting is interesting.

Each one of the participant have their own special interest to advance. So it is doomed to failure at the expense of tax payers
County and the cities would be better off conserving resources and reduce cost of loving in Flagler County. If cost is low to live here, people who do not need jobs will be coming here to live. These people will create a need and business people who can satisfy the need of the people will come and create jobs.
What is so difficult to understand this demand first and supply second system?

It is very obvious to me having been a part of a similar effort ten years ago when we all went for 1/2 sales tax that the group has lost its legislative history. All the players are gone and those who are still here were not movers and power players. The same planning process that led to the county and cities going for a 1/2 cent and the school board going for a 1/2cent with specific plans for use by all is what is needed. This was planed, published in a ballot and approved by the public. We have spent nine years using that money and now have forgotten how we got it. Go back, get out the files and follow history. I am not sure a facilitator will know this and unless he or she comes from the group itself’ they would not.
