Timothy Daniel Hardie, a 56-year-old resident of North State Street in Bunnell, was killed Wednesday afternoon in a traffic crash on U.S. 1 in Ormond Beach, police said.
Ormond Beach police reported the crash took place at 5:12 p.m. at the intersection of Hull Road and North U.S. 1, near Tomoka Estates. Hardie was the single rider of a motorcycle, heading south. Hardie was turning onto Hull Road when he crashed into a passenger vehicle.
Hardie was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the vehicle were not injured, Ormond Beach police reported. The department released little additional information relating to the crash, which remains under investigation. The identities of the vehicles’ occupants were not released.
Hardie had been arrested on New Year’s Day in Flagler on a charge of habitually driving on a revoked license. His license had been suspended last September and revoked indefinitely on December 2. Ormond Beach police listed his home as Palm Coast: until last fall he had lived off North Oceanshore Boulevard just north of the Hammock.

I am sorry that someone has lost their life and my sympathy goes out to his Family and friends.
I drive alot for my job. And having been in the area along time see a number of serious infractions by motorcycle drivers. Everyone harps on vehicle drivers but it’s the bikes I see weaving in and out of traffic blowing thru lights and intersections at high speeds. Just the other evening I watched one weave thru traffic ride the white line then blow a light to get on 95. And what’s up with this need for a biker to put his wheel right up on your bumper? I don’t understand the need to be so wreckless when life is so precious.
One blatant thing I see time and time again is zero enforcement from our Law Enforcement Agencies. I never see bikes pulled over. And I have been in this area a long time. It’s especially obvious during Bike Week an Biketoberfest. It’s almost like they are told to leave the bikes alone and give them a free pass.
One of the key aspects of making our roads safer is respect and accountability. It goes both ways for bikes and cars. If everyone were a little more kind and respectful there would be a lot less issues.
Stop the distracted driving and wreckless behavior. We all want to get home safe. Regardless of what we are driving.

Sorry for this needless death, but how as he able to have a motor vehicle registered if his ability to drive had been previously revoked.
I hope the occupants of the other vehicle do not suffer from this death which appears not to have been their fault.

I think what she was trying to say was if Mr hardie was obeying the law and not operating a vehicle at all, due to not being able to register without a license he would be alive today……sorry for your loss by the way
